A great experience. A gem.
The room was large. We had a tub and shower. After walking around on a rainy day the tub was just what I needed. The manager met us when we arrived. The public areas were very nice. We later enjoyed a “whiskey flight” specially chosen by the manager to our novice taste. He enlightened us about the different types and tastes. The breakfast was amazing. The views of the harbor were great.

Great hotel
Really like this place. Great building, nice garden, lovely views over the town. They also have a view over the ferry terminal but have planted bushes carefully so you can leave it out of your photos.
Staff are wonderful. Incredibly nice people.
Be aware that the rooms are really small, and the beds are tiny. perhaps 4' rather than 4'6". Wouldn't have bothered us 20 years ago but not good for aches and pains when you get older.

A wonderful old-world experience
An outstanding property that has existed since 1790. Every room bursts with authentic Georgian charm but has modern amenities and the staff is excellent.
The bed was very comfortable and the noise level was low in spite of us facing the street. The building is on the outskirts of the Oban business district but is only a short walk away from it.
My single biggest problem with the building, and one that I do not see a way to resolve given the location's commitment to maintaining its old world charm, is light levels in the room at night. I am very sensitive to light and cannot sleep when it is above a certain level. Sadly, this meant a long sleepless night in an otherwise brilliant experience.
Another problem, speaking as an American, was the open walled shower, which was better than some we have experienced, but still led to problems and a lot of water in the bathroom.

loved our stay at The Manor House.
Beautiful property in a historic old home. We enjoyed our stay in Oban's The Manor House. The location is great overlooking the harbor. It was fun watching the ferries and sailboats in the water.
The location is a few minutes walk to the harbor.
The staff took good care of us. The evening shift manager/bartender was a lot fun, with great suggestions for drinks (just don't ask for ice for your scotch lol). The morning manager actually came to our room and asked if my wife wanted to eat breakfast, as the restaurant was about to close, and she was worried after she didn't see my wife with me at breakfast).
Great service, no problems.

Cozy Boutique Hotel in Oban
Cozy, beautifully restored boutique hotel. David, Daniel and Steven are very knowledgeable about Oban and the tours. They recommended dinner at The Waterfront Fish House that was excellent! They even packed a lunch for us on our one day tour. The hotel was clean and functional given its historical age! Highly recommend with easy walking access to Oban city CENTRE and ferry.
