Delicious food and plenty of it.

We came for lunch , arrived early but were show. To our table immediately by a very welcoming hostess . We shared probably the best and certainly the largest portion of nachos ever.
My husband had the fish and chips and I , being vegetarian , had a wonderful meal of butternut and lentil filo pastry parcel with delicious Smokey mash and caramelised red cabbage that tasted like Christmas!!
The room was warm, the staff very welcoming and the food and wine perfect.
Lucky you if you choose to eat here, you won’t regret it

Would not recommend this place

The meal was awful, I had ceaser salad and it was saturated in sauce and soggy so didn't really eat much of it. My husband had a burger and it was very spicy to the point he had to drink water. The starter was not great either but I was hungry so ate it. The selection of wine by the glass was cheap and not good whatever you tried, the bartender did charge it but I think that any by the glass was cheap wine and tasted awful, dont think it was his fault. It was expensive and really not worth the money. Would definetly not recommend this place

Poor service

Had table booked for 3pm, we arrived a little early, but was shown to our table on arrival. After that we were asked if we would like to order a drink, which we did at around 3:05pm, the waitress then came back at 3:10pm and took our food order. At which time we explained that I had a nut allergy before ordering our meals. It then took an hour before our food actually arrived at the table, and when it did arrive the order was wrong , as I was served a dish which contained nuts. So had to wait another 10 minutes before I received my meal. Very disappointed with the service that we received. With no real apology from anyone.

Wedding Anniversary Blues

So disappointed as we used to visit the Horseshoe Inn with mum and dad and were there for our wedding anniversary.
Room was small, lots of maintenance and cleanliness defects. Food was disappointing, tiny portion of scallops 1 cut in half.... main course fish over cooked, Breakfast not very good and some of the help yourself items had run out.
We had dogs so restricted to the bar and the staff concentrated on the restaurant, so we had dinner alone, no atmosphere.
Really nothing good to say about our visit. such a shame.

Great inn with lovely rooms and excellent food!

Just stayed one night on the way to Edinburgh and it was great! Our room (in the old school house behind the pub) was small but had everything we needed including a very comfortable bed.
We had dinner in the pub and the food was fantastic (and great "desert cocktail" too!) Staff were all very helpful and friendly.
Excellent stop off!
