Great stay at Penrhosmawr
Had a great stay with Cerys and Henry, the owners of the guest house as part of a cycling trip we were doing in Snowdonia. Friendly and helpful and Cerys made a fantastic breakfast in the morning which set us up for a long days ride. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Fab B&B
We stayed at the B&B part of the campsite at Penrhosmawr and it was the most pleasant stay. Room was large and bed comfortable. Clean too. Private bathroom. Lovely owners. Breakfast was fantastic. Lovely to see lots of livestock too just outside our window. Would stay here again!!

Shocking rudeness and aggressive behaviour...
I stayed here with two other teacher friends looking forward to a nice relaxing bank holiday weekend before term started. We had been out walking Cadair Idris all day and turned up in two separate cars at 7pm to find the campsite manager a young Irishman drunk and incredibly rude. I could not believe how rude, antagonistic and awkward he was, the campsite was super busy and everywhere else was booked so I had to be very diplomatic to have a place to stay, after I went to the pitch my friend who did not witness my interaction came to the pitch and was bouncing with anger as he had had exactly the same treatment. There aren't enough toilets or showers either and everything is filthy. Worst campsite I have ever stayed in my entire life. I would never give my money to these people again under any circumstances.

worst campsite ever
This was one of the worst campsite I have ever visited. The farm owner is very un-professional. They book 100+ people with only one toiled on the site. I would not recommend and will not go back to this site ever.

Heavenly spot turned into hell.
We turned up at Penrhosmawr Campsite with our children and dog after a very last minute booking and were warmly welcomed by the owners and shown to where we could park our car. We were told we could pitch anywhere and quickly found a spot on the top of the hill which would give us stunning views as well as being not too far from the car or shower blocks. We pitched up and then went exploring. After walking one of the signposted routes, through sheep fields and a neighbouring farm, we returned just in time to get a firepit and logs from the owners who were circling the fields on their quad bike and we settled in for our first night. The site was calm and quiet and after using the facilities, which were clean and well stocked with toilet roll, soap and paper towels for hand drying, we went to bed around 11. We woke the next morning, had a peaceful breakfast, showered in the still clean toilet blocks, made a picnic and went out for the day to meet relatives.
Upon our return, around 8pm, we were met with an entirely different site. There we cars parked everywhere, including along the edges of the one way gravel road, making it difficult to get back to where we were camped and the fields were full of new tents and swarming with people. We managed to park our car at the top near the toilet blocks, as we'd been told the day before that as long as there was space to turn vehicles it was a parking area. We went to where we had left our tent, which in the morning had maybe had about three or four tents within a 5 metre distance, to find that there were now tents everywhere with barely any distance between at all. There was loud music playing from several tents, people walking around shouting and swearing and the heavenly site we'd left in the morning had disappeared and been replaced with a hell hole. We heard the owner's quad bike moving around the site, but were unable to get their attention so we couldn't have our firepit again, the music and general loudness of people continued until 3am and as I lay awake I heard the lads from a tent at the side of us peeing in the gap between our tents. I was woken up at 6am by the same group of lads by our tent having a competition to see whose trump was loudest/smelliest and then at 7 had the joy of hearing people walking on the other side of our tent proclaiming that they wish they hadn't got flips flops on as there was "dog sh*t everywhere". The toilet blocks were so busy with people that we felt it would be unsafe to use them, as no one was social distancing and when my partner took our dog for a walk another dog bounded out of a tent and launched at ours, with the owner of the dog telling my partner he'd punch him for complaining that the dog should've been on lead. This was the final straw in the decision to leave a day early and as we were packing up we overheard a few other people walking by the tent saying they were shocked and disgusted by the state of the place.
When we arrived we thought we'd hit upon a real winner, but when we left we all said that we would put it as the worst place we'd stayed.
