Our recent stay
We recently stayed at Locky Cottage at Bachilton Farm after booking through Wowcher for my partner’s 40th birthday weekend.
The cottage itself was lovely and exactly as described. We really enjoyed the accommodation and had a relaxing Friday and Saturday once we were settled in.
However, there were several communication issues throughout the experience which unfortunately put a dampener on the weekend.
The first issue was that the Wowcher advert did not clearly explain there was a £50 per night supplement for weekend stays. We booked expecting to pay the advertised £239, only to later discover we needed to pay an additional £100 for the weekend dates we wanted. This should definitely be made clearer at the point of booking.
Before arrival, I was told I would receive a confirmation email with all the check-in details, but this never arrived. I called before travelling and was reassured everything was fine. However, when we arrived at around 5pm on Friday, we had no access information or key safe code. Calling the contact number initially led to an answering machine saying the office was closed until Monday. After waiting around an hour and making further calls, we eventually managed to speak to someone and finally received the code. While we appreciated getting access in the end, it was frustrating to lose over an hour of our weekend due to poor communication.
The final morning was also disappointing. Wowcher advertised an 11am checkout, so we planned our morning around that. However, around 10am staff entered the garden area to clean the hot tub and another staff member looked through the cottage windows before informing us checkout was actually 10am. When I explained our booking stated 11am, the response felt dismissive and no apology was offered.
Overall, the cottage itself was beautiful and we did enjoy our stay, but the experience was overshadowed by communication problems, confusion over check-in and checkout times, and the unexpected additional charges. With clearer advertising and better communication, this could have been a much more enjoyable experience.

Comfortable,welcoming and cosy.
The weather outside was miserable but the cottage was welcoming and cosy. Ninetrees had everything we required. The cottage was secluded but near enough the main road to go exploring. Unfortunately due to the weather we didn't use the hottub. We would definitely book again. The communication was excellent before our visit. We thought we might have to rearrange and the lady I contacted was very helpful. We decided to keep our original booking. Party of 4 ladies had a lovely chilled weekend.

Great place to stay
The cottages are well appointed and have everything you need including a hot tub
When you come off the main road you can tell straightaway by the painted white stones and good quality tarred driveway that it is a well run and professionally managed place
The cottages are well maintained and all on the level with no stairs
We took our two dogs with us and because it’s working farm they had to be kept on the lead at all times which is totally understandable
Would be great if there was a dedicated area to allow the dogs to have a good run. I gave two shanties so they have a lot of energy to burn
As a consultant I inspected many holiday lets for fire and health and safety and this is by far one of the best places visited
All electrical appliances PAT tested fire extinguisher and blanket in place and clear rules if house displayed
On the doorstep you have some reasonable walks up to 5km around the farm and Strathern distillery as part of the business
I would highly recommend a visit and stay

Fantastic Setting
Just back from a 2 night stay with my wife at the Lochy Cottage. What a fantastic setting, so peaceful and quiet, we had the relaxing time we were looking for.A superb little cosy Cottage.The Hot Tub was already set at temperature on arrival, a great touch , so no waiting for it to heat up.The only down side was the size of the bed, a bit small for us, but other than that a Fantastic 2 nights. Thank you Bachilton Farm

New Year Escape, can't wait to return!
Our recent New Year's stay at Dovecote Cottage exceeded all expectations, providing a serene and delightful experience from start to finish. The cottage was immaculately clean, reflecting a high standard of hygiene and care, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere upon arrival.
The location was simply fantastic, offering tranquility in a rural setting that allowed for a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The serene ambiance and the surrounding countryside made for a truly rejuvenating escape.
Communication both before and after booking was seamless, adding to the ease of planning and confirming our stay. Every detail was meticulously taken care of, and the amenities provided within the cottage were comprehensive and thoughtful. It was impressive to find that everything one could think of was readily available, contributing to a hassle-free and enjoyable stay.
The highlight of our experience was undoubtedly the amazing log fire, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The provision of extra logs ensured that we could relish the warmth and ambiance throughout our stay. Additionally, the opportunity to explore the farm through pleasant walks further added to the charm of the experience.
Moreover, the cherry on top was the perfect hot tub, offering a relaxing way to unwind while enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
We highly recommend indulging in the delights of the local Indian restaurant, Chanti, which was nothing short of fabulous. Its proximity and exceptional cuisine added an extra layer of delight to our stay.
