Things go wrong - it’s how you react that counts

We arrived with an hour to spare to unpack and get ready for a night out only to find that the apartment hadn’t been made up from the last guests stay ! Bed not done, no clean towels and place very dirty.
With no rooms in the hotel to move to we had no other choice but to stay. The receptionist cleaned the bathroom to allow us to get ready then, while we were out came in and did a full clean and service.
A bottle of wine appeared on our table and there was another one left in the apartment for us.
I was happy with how the team dealt with the problem and apologised and compensated us. Obviously it should never have happened, hence the lower score.
The apartment was lovely and well fitted out, 1 wee thing for improvement would be better lighting around the dressing table as it was very dark and the overhead lights also didn’t work.
Despite the problems, because of how they were dealt with and the beautiful location - we will be back !

Depressing

Very disappointing, depressing and with quite a few issues, some that a little bit of tlc could correct.
I’ve emailed twice with no response detailing the problems. Overall it’s badly designed, with no light or windows that open, plus we had lots of black curly worms invading the apartment every day.
Don’t book, I wish I’d read the reviews first!!

Disappointing

We booked the one bedroom apartment for a week,in order to explore this part of Scotland, and where the apartment is located is ideal. The apartment is associated with The Mount Stewart Hotel, we ate there a few nights, enjoyed the meals and the staff were pleasant and friendly. The accommodation is described as ‘boutique’ with luxury surrounds, this does not apply to the quality of the fittings/finish. There were a number of things that required maintenance, which I let the hotel know about on checkout. The apartment is dark due to little natural light - do not expect light to be coming into the bedroom as seen on some pictures! The bedroom and the kitchen back onto a covered area which seemed to be used by kitchen staff and held bins. Opening the bedroom window was not ideal due to the smell of food. On a practical note there is no two-pin plug for charging a toothbrush so pack an adapter. Overall, expensive for what it was.

Do not book

I contacted them myself and via 'the agent' on the 13th to say we had a bereavement and could we delay our entry. Tried getting in touch daily from then on as did 'the agent'. No one answered or responded until the 25th (in the evening of the day we should have arrived) to say it would be dealt with promptly the next day. That same day someone from 'the agency' finally got hold of someone on the phone number they promote for the 1st time in 12 days of trying. They too said it would be dealt with the next day. Still had no response. Very poor service, disgusting in fact.
Thank you for making a difficult time in our lives more miserable.
Do not book.
