Portstewart

This beautiful place, in a lovely area, is close to the beach, shops, cafes, restaurants.
Ernistine and Tom, really lovely.
The room beautiful, cosy and relaxing. I had everything i needed.
I really enjoyed my time here.

Lovely stay

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Strand House. Ernistine and Tom were incredibly hospitable and kind and couldn’t have made us feel more welcome or more at home. The room was accessible for wheelchair use and the communal area was comfortable indeed. Thoroughly recommended and thanks so much. Brian, Margaret and Cathy, Southampton.

Best kept secret

The owners of the house have taken care with every detail! From the spacious rooms to the bedding, to the snacks, breakfast, anything you can imagine. Lovely, lovely people. Fantastic restaurants close by, and all with a view of the beach! Will go back for sure!

No breakfast so why is it a BnB?

I had read all the fabulous, so I thought that would be a good distraction for me as I was there for work meetings in nearby Coleraine. Unfortunately, it is no longer run they way it was preciously. It has changed since the pandemic. No longer greeted by the owners, there's a box outside that you get the code for in advance. Once in my room, it was explained that they no longer offer a cooked breakfast but have cold milk, OJ, and yogurts in room fridge and a coffee machine, it was disappointing as I didn't have transport to go find somewhere else for breakfast.
The room was clean and the girl that showed me to my room and helped me with keypad to get in was lovely. The bed was comfortable.

A Fantastic Guesthouse! Made our trip!

We just had a 3 day trip around Northern Ireland and we were so lucky to find this wonderful guest house, The Strand House. The owners Ernestine and Tom gave us the most warm welcome and were so informative about the area and areas to dine. The room and bathroom were cosy, so clean and beds comfortable. A fridge in the room filled with essentials, an overflow fridge outside surplus of water, fruit juice and treats. And the well needed nespresso machine! The guesthouse is located beside the Portstewart golf course and a 3 minute walk to the fabulous beach. It is close to the main st where there is a multiple choice of places to eat. A great location to the Coleraine road and just 10 mins to neighbouring Portrush. Just had the most fabulous trip to the North of Ireland from Co Clare and had Portstewart as our base to complete the tourist attractions as Belfast, the rope bridge, giants causeway, portrush, Portstewart, Malin head, stairway to heaven( cuilcagh mountain park).
I just couldn’t recommend this guesthouse enough and hopefully will be back soon with the golf clubs next time.
