Nice little B&B

A sweet B&B run by a lovely lady, cozy little rooms, a nice big bathroom, pretty little breakfast room with a good breakfast, the whole house is a bit old in places but that's not surprising given the hostess's history, so we hope the very best for her husband and that she doesn't have to give up her lovely guest service. You can start beautiful hikes into Dartmoor from there. Our dog also felt very comfortable.

The owners were lovely and check in was smooth.
Our room was spacious and clean.
The shower didn’t work in our room, we ended up using my parents in their own room.
Breakfast was a slight disaster, my 2 year old niece was served raw sausages. They did apologise and reccook but none of us were keen to eat sausages after that.

Hi, Thank you for your review. We apologize that your shower was not in working order, but we were having major problems with our water supply at the time.
With regards the sausage situation, we are very sorry this happened - it was a first for us - and we hope it did not spoil your stay with us.

We should have stayed longer...!

As we were only passing through Dartmoor, we only stayed one night. We should have stayed a bit longer though, as the house is really nice (lovely bedroom, pretty garden, cozy sitting room with a fireplace, etc). At least we had the time to enjoy a beautifully cooked breakfast with a view of the garden. The location is perfect and seems like a good starting point for longer or shorter hikes. The hosts were absolutely lovely and we've already deciced to come back soon with a bit more time!

Lovely hosts, great place and good for local walking, Beechwood B&B, Postbridge, Dartmoor.

This is a gem of a b&b! Sarah and Ian are lovely hosts; friendly, low key and happy to help.
We, 3 adults, were in the 2 twin rooms that share a bathroom. A lovely set up: comfy beds, tea n coffee in rooms. The water is lovely here - sweet taste and soft for washing in. The breakfasts were lovely, vegetarian and full English. We were here July 5th to July 9th (2022) and we explored Dartmoor from here. The local East Dart river is very beautiful and has a Clapper Bridge, so pretty. There are walks from the door and a good pub just down the road. The house dog is a friendly collie who is very welcoming and playful.
I will recommend this B&B to friends.

A true gem .

We found Beechwood on Dartmoor at the very last minute as the room we had booked elsewhere was appalling. And are we so glad we did . What a gem of a place , great room , clean ,tidy ,and the most accommodating hosts you could wish for in Ian and Sarah .
A midweek break in the most fantastic location in the heart of Dartmoor. Lovely breakfast , even catering for me being coeliac at short notice .
Cannot recommend highly enough for rescuing our break, saviours.
