Fantastic stay! Highly recommend.
We booked our stay here through air bnb, as we had a family reunion in Rye and wanted to be central. From the start, Ian the owner was very responsive and honest. He informed us of the steep stairs, and that the single room was more suitable for children rather than my mum. As it happened, mum loved the room.
When we arrived, we recieved a very warm welcome from Ian. He showed us around the suite and explained about breakfast etc. The Tilling suite had three bedrooms, a kingsize, double and a single. There was a good size bathroom which had a bath with shower. The lounge had two large and very comfortable sofas, tea and coffee facilities, TV, fridge and more board games than Smyths toy shop! The suite was very clean and comfortable. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed for two nights and despite the weather being 30, the suite was surprisingly cool with excellent air flow from big open windows. It was lovely laying in bed watching a thunderstorm with the big window open. Because we were having a big family meal, we decided not to have breakfast but it was so busy I'm not sure we would've got a seat and table anyway! This was evidence that the breakfasts must be very good indeed. If you haven't visited Rye before, I can highly recommend you do. Its packed with history and full of quaint little shops. The town model is just around the corner from the old borough arms and gives a fascinating insight to Ryes history, including butcher Bredes (my great, great, great, great grandfather! )
There are plenty of nice bars and restaurants just outside the front door.
As you can tell, we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend staying here. Thank you to Ian and all the staff that made our weekend so enjoyable, it really was a home from home and we will definitely be returning next year!

Absolutely fantastic time, great guest house
I booked up for a couples weekend away and decided to stay here, with reading the reviews we thought we would try it.
When we arrived on the Saturday afternoon, we were greeted with open arms by Sarah ( the owner ) and her colleague showed us to our room downstairs, the room was absolutely beautiful with their own stamp on it, the only thing was that our night sleep would be disturbed by a squeaky bed which by a simple move,
When I went to speak to Sarah, they were straight on it and with their tool box, tried to fix it, but unable too, instead gave us a free upgrade to the suite upstairs ( top floor ) and it was absolutely amazing, spacious for a family and the decor was so homely.
Next day we had breakfast, and I had a full English and partner had a scrambled eggs with mushrooms, tasted out of this well.
The whole team were amazing, brilliant, kind, and so worth the visit to anyone who stays in Rye.

It was a lovely place to stay, close to all the places we wanted to visit, the room was very nice and the breakfast was delicious.

Lovely place to stay. The lady who greeted was very friendly. Room was big and the bed was very comfortable. It took a while for room to heat up as I hadn’t realised all the thermostats were turned off. I had a bit of disturbed sleep as I stayed when it was very heavy rain/ windy so the windows were rattling (understandable as it’s an old building). I would recommend staying here as it’s very affordable.
