One off experience in a Beautiful Manor Hall. Previously run down trying it’s best to give you a stunning experience
•we were the only guests that weekend. •the drive was incredible with sheep, ducks, cows grazing within the beauty. •the gardens were incredible fit for a wedding. •There is no restaurant or bar. Please come knowing this as Grantham is so nearby for all amenities. •Bring water, drinks, snacks etc. •we dined in Grantham and the restaurants were delicious.
•We found this hotel on booking.com. We drove up to it and it had beautiful surroundings we could not fault. •The very polite receptionist told us that they have just turned it back into a hotel so it will take time as more guests arrive over the next few months to perfect it. He was very kind & fair being up front about why it didn’t have a bar and restaurant. •We stayed in what was the bridal suite. Room was huge. Very comfy bed, TV. Kettle. It’s important to note this isn’t a fully running hotel with lots of amenities. This was a one off experience in a manor which we loved. Water took time to run hot but again this is a stately home. After 8-9 mins of running it, the hot water kicks in. They only use a few rooms currently whilst they are renovating. We were the only guests & honestly can’t believe the sheer beauty. Please arrive knowing they are doing their best to turn this back into a hotel slowly. I have never slept in a manor hall without lots of guests enjoying everything about it. I really wanted to give this place a chance especially when the young gentleman explained they’re just trying to get it back up and running. Once you’re aware of this & there to give it your all, it’s Beautiful. Thanks so much. All this needs is a social media person to give it the word of mouth and get people through the doors . I cannot fault my weekend here. Finally I recommend breakfast at Kitchen & Coffee Grantham & we had an Indian at Namaste dining Grantham. They have milk, tea and coffee and we brought water, juice etc

Disappointing
Formalities over I went to my suite to be greeted by a stained carpet. Black marks in the bottom of the loo. Stains on the side of the bed and no mattress protector
Reception said if I could wait a while they could find me another room
I asked if I could eat and was directed to the bar. That was closed
Though on yet another visit to reception they insisted it was open
All in all. DONT GO
It’s awful and nothing like the website.
There were other people complaining

Horrible
charged us 20£ too much for noisy, small, out of date rooms with view (through a broken window that could not be opened) on a container. Definitely not the 4 star they pretend to be

What happens this once beautiful hotel
It was once a very nice hotel. The out side is still stunning but the inside has been neglected.
When we first visited a few years ago you had two bars, one on lower level where you could sit out a snooker room, a large dining room a restaurant and you could even have afternoon tea with Prosecco in the stunning foyer. Their was even a gym and pool.
What happened! we visited in August of this year for three nights and booked out after just one. Nothing left What a shame.
