For the price it met my expectations, basic but everything you need room wise. Breakfast was ok, nothing spectacular.
The building itself was a complete rabbit warren. To access my room it was basically a maze - up, down, turn right, down, turn than up 4 floors, over the other side then down again. Total mess of a floor plan. I can only assume that wasn’t on purpose and just expanded room by room - but ultimately equals a total nightmare to navigate.
Parking was excellent. Plenty of room and only £9 per 24h - which I thought was great value. Well positioned hotel for the sea front - only a couple mins walk and you’re there.
Room was incredibly hot, heated flooring in bathroom was not a welcome addition in a heatwave. No air con, but they do leave a little fan in the room - not that it helped in heatwave temps.
Overall, not a bad place. You get what you pay for, expect to get exactly the value back as the room rate charged and you won’t be disappointed. Basic but absolutely fine.

We checked into your hotel yesterday we were in room 275. After being out with friends all day, we returned to our room and was far from impressed. Although I know you can't control the weather the room was far too hot the air con on the wall wasn't working and the tower fan that was in the room sounded like an old washing machine with gravel in it. The bed (considering I'd booked a new king room according to hotels.com) was so uncomfortable if felt like the mattress or bed base had collapsed making it totally useless for sleeping.
we was that upset we left the hotel at around 12.15 am to go back home.
I returned the key to reception and explained to the man at the desk about the problems with the room and he just shrugged his shoulders. We booked this hotel as we had stayed there last August and was really happy with everything. So to return this year and be so disappointed with the room was really upsetting.

Lovely hotel

Just returned from 5 night break, check in was bad no organisation at all, a free for all. We paid the extra £10 per person to upgrade our room, think it was a disabled persons room ie high toilet and lots of handrails in bathroom, low mirrors in bathroom and bedroom, not complaining but think that there would have been people staying same time as us who would have appreciated these facilities more, but the room was comfortable. The food in restaurant was fabulous plenty choice for breakfast and same for evening meal and all food was delicious they couldn’t do more and all staff in restaurant were lovely. Overall was a great place stay and would stay again.

Riveria

Absolutely terrible hotel, had 3 different rooms in 24 hours, ALL disgraceful. Curtains stapled together, thread bare carpet, rustie radiators. Black mildew sealed tiles in bathroom. I have at least 20 plus photo,s that I will be taking to health & safe and trading standards. When i complained to terry manager, he said its exceptable for old people! We went with JUST GO coach company who I have complained to several time, but as from my return still heard nothing.

We seem to be a bit ‘marmite’, we have a string of great reviews and then a terrible one and generally it is about our older non refurbished rooms. I am guessing you didn’t want to pay the £5pppn for an upgrade room which have all been fully refurbished and have lovely new bathrooms and oversized showers. We continue to work through upgrading our older rooms, removing the baths and renewing all the furnishings, we have now completed refurbishments of over 150 bedrooms at 1 every two weeks over the last 5 years, and have 40 more to do, which we hope to complete over the next 12 months.
You travelled with Just Go and got a fabulous rate for a standard room and whatever room you stayed in you still get access to some of the best entertainment in the Bay, our Sports Bar with over 30 TV’s, our heated indoor pool and our fantastic home cooked food. All I can say is if your room is a really important part of your stay, fork out the very small amount extra to upgrade and that will make all the difference to you having a lovely stay on the English Riviera.
