Was good - some bits could have been a bit better...
We bought a package for two that included the spa, 1x treatment each, a buffet lunch, a 3 course dinner and a full English breakfast, with an overnight stay.
Booking was easy, we did it over the phone and got our itinerary 2 days before arrival. Check in to the hotel at 11, prior to entering the spa, but unable to access room until 4pm.
On arrival to the spa, staff very friendly and we had individual allocated lockers with a robe and towel in there. The spa had a large jacuzzi in the centre of the room, multiple steam and sauna rooms and an ice room. A few wooden benches around the side, one foot spa bench (one foot spa was out of service) but no where really to sit. Across the other side of the building was the swimming pool, another steam and sauna room and jacuzzi - lots more loungers around here so we mainly stayed here as there were places to sit. Unfortunately one jacuzzi and another set of steps out of action here but didn't affect the overall day. Lunch here was a buffet and was delicious, plentiful and fresh, a mix of hot and cold foods. I had a facial with Sabrina who was wonderful and probably one of the best facials I've ever had (and I adore facials!) Products used were ESPA and we were given a list of all the products used with no up selling. Stayed in the pool area until 6pm and then over to the hotel to collect keys and check into the room.
Room was a double and of decent size - unfortunately no air conditioning (and it was 33 degrees so very hot!) but there was a fan in the room. ESPA toiletries in the room were nice, and towels were soft and fluffy.
The included 3 course dinner was nice - my starter was the goats cheese (which was supposed to be whipped but it tasted like it had been made about 2 days earlier and the actual whipped cheese was hard ) and the portion was tiny. I went for the beef which was nice, my husband had the lamb (for which there was a small supplement) and he wanted to lick the plate clean! For dessert I went with the cheese - unfortunately I was given no knife for this despite me asking, so I had to use a spoon and instead of a variety of crackers, it was just water wafers, so despite paying a supplement for this, it was a bit of a let down. The restaurant wasn't overly busy and stuff were plentiful but it was difficult to catch a waiter's eye and we ended up having to walk to grab some help.
Unfortunately the mattress was way to soft for our liking - so combined with that and the heat of the room it was a rather restless night's sleep.
Thankfully breakfast was fantastic, loads of choice, staff were great, everything was really fresh.
Overall - a pleasant stay. We marked it down due to the room being so hot and us not sleeping well on the mattress and the disappointing main meal, but the buffet lunch, facial and breakfast were fabulous. Would have liked more seating to relax in around the spa without having to leave the building to head to the pool but it wasn't a massive issue, just inconvenient. Thanks so much
