Great week at the Trefeddian.
Another great holiday at the Trefeddian. Very hot for two days. ( 40°) The staff were excellent. The restaurant coped brilliantly. Thankyou Meg and Holly! The menu changes daily. The meals were very good. Well presented and plentiful. We appreciate the traditional 4 courses. You don't get Michelin cuisine at £40 (to the other reviewers!) This is certainly not pub food. A well balanced hotel run by attentive friendly staff. Thankyou.

Great views but awful restaurant and food
The hotel stands really beautifully, our room was on the front having lovely views over the golf course and sea. There was plentiful parking and the reception staff were all very polite and friendly. The common rooms are very nice and comfortable being welcoming and spacious.
That’s the good stuff, unfortunately our room had an overwhelming smell of disinfectant and was pretty dated but adequate for one night, very warm but a small fan was provided.
The reason for one star was the food which was dreadful, pre cooked on mass and left under heat lamps to congeal. We chose the four course evening meal which was a mistake. It was just really bad, every course was tasteless even the cheese board. A cheese board isn’t three dairylea size wafer thin bits of cheese, two ritz and one water cracker, oh and six grapes. It really felt like the chef had given up, even the scrambled eggs for breakfast was stone cold, clearly no one on the pass between the restaurant and kitchen checked any of our food. Our Italian waiter was without doubt the rudest oddball I’ve ever come across in a restaurant, just weird.
Would we return or recommend, no chance, especially when there’s so many other great places in the area at this price point or less offering better food and restaurant service.

Ploughman’s Lunch
Stopped off at this hotel again for lunch whilst passing through. Beautiful views, relaxed and great food.

Delicious food
As non residents we called in and enjoyed a delicious lunch twice in one week. I can recommend the fish platter with prawns, smoked salmon, poached salmon and smoked mackerel and also the afternoon tea with freshly baked scone. All delicious. Friendly welcoming staff.

Excellent hotel.
Booked on the recommendation of a friend - we treated ourselves to Dinner Bed and Breakfast en-route back home from an excellent night in Aberystwyth. The location is fantastic with views out to the Dyfi Estuary and well out of the village and away from the main road. Arrival and check in was easy despite us being early. Our room was sea facing and was large and comfortable (although no air con), The room was well appointed and spotlessly clean. Beds were comfortable. The decor was modern and tasetful with a local touch of oil paintings. Dinner was lovely with a good choice across the four courses. Breakfast was fine, high quality ingrediants. The place just lacked a bit of atmoshere.
