Comfortable and quite luxurious accommodation

The two bedroom lodge that we had, Unit 25, was surprisingly comfortable and quite luxurious with two double bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of which was handicap friendly. The kitchen was well equipped and there was a dishwasher, two half sized fridge-freezers and a clothes washer. We did not use the golf facilities. The bar had a very weak wifi which we were unable up connect to and had to buy data. There was no wifi in the lodges/apartments. We saw muntjacs and pheasants in the back garden of our lodge. There should be a corkscrew provided as some of us still buy wine bottles with corks. A roll of kitchen towel would have been nice. We checked out two days early and left our lodge key at the bar as reception was not yet open. All in all a very comfortable stay.

Avoid as no facilities, nothing in the area.

The room are good size but no sound proofing so you can hear next door residents talking, There are no facilities on site and the club house was closed most afternoons.
There is very little to do and see in the area around and the nearby town of Watton has nothing worth visiting.

A cold, dated, smelly dump.

The apartment was freezing cold, with damp, musty, smelly rooms. The windows are rotten and insulation non-existent, so every noise outside and next door was audible (every conversation and urination was like they were in the same room). They charge you for all electricity used, so the hot water and old electric heaters, needed to make the place habitable, cost a fortune. We minimised there use, but were still charged £35 for 1 week. There is no WiFi at all (they say you can use the bar, but it’s never open) and no phone signal, so plan your days out before you arrive (if indeed you are still daft enough to go to this dump).

Don't go in the winter

The roads on site were full of potholes and you are expected to park in the main car park quite a distance from the units and walk back in the dark . There was no reply to the out of hours number when we required assistance at 3.30 in the afternoon when everyone had left.

Comfortable apartment but NO WiFi

From the outside, the apartment looked grim - like a basic wooden shack. However, once inside, it was ok. We had a 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms unit. Both bedrooms had twin beds with 1 bathroom en-suite. The kitchen was reasonably well-equipped apart from a corkscrew. There was a washing machine in the unit. The central heating was gas, and kept the unit nicely warm. So the 4-stars is for the accommodation.
The downside is there is NO WiFi signal on site (despite what it says on the description). There was supposed to be WiFi in the bar area, but that also never worked even when connected (at 1 bar signal on the phone). In addition, during the winter the bar closes around 3pm. Mobile phone signal is also not great to use data.
We were checked in by Margaret but there’s usually no one at reception and we left the keys at the bar on check-out. The golf course was open during the winter but the bar does not serve food during the winter it seems -despite the sign saying “food available all day”. So the facilities would rate a 2.5 stars at most.
Overall, probably best to stay here in summer and expect no WiFi.
