Day out at Lake Windermere

We went to Windermere for a day out and had lunch at the Stags Head. What a find, from the moment we entered it was warm & welcoming the roaring open fire was perfect. The service was exceptional and the food brilliant, tasty & hot. I would definitely recommend the Stag’s Head to go for lunch.

Rude staff and inability to accommodate sports requests

Went in on the Saturday afternoon for a drink, service was slow but fine and we asked if they would be able to put the rugby on the next day at 3 since they have around 6 tvs in the pub and they said that would be absolutely fine! The next day we get there at 2:30 and the pub is quiet, my partner asked if they could put the rugby on one of the tvs at 3 and the same bartender who said yes yesterday said no today and said there are 4 football matches on so it’d be too busy so we thought that’s okay. We stayed in the pub and had to watch the game on a phone even though the same football game was being played on all the tvs, there were 6 people in the pub watching football and the rest of the pub was practically empty (as seen in the images). If you’re looking for friendly service and good sports i’d recommend going somewhere else.

Poor service poor manners don’t bother

Absolute rude staff not interested in customers
Place looks like its stuck in a time warp
Steer clear and go to nicer more customer focused places on the lake

Utterly Awful Service

Walked in hoping for a proper pub experience and got the worst service I’ve had in ages. The patrons were great — friendly and welcoming — but the bartender and barbacks were clueless, rude, and couldn’t manage more than cracking a beer or pouring wine. Anything beyond that? Forget it.
Total waste of time. If you want a drink, go literally anywhere else.

Good weekend at the stags head

Had a good couple of nights staying at the stags head hotel last weekend.friendly staff and atmosphere,good value and a great location.would have given 5 stars but the mattress in our room (28) is in serious need of replacement you can feel every spring.that said the rest of the room was very clean and comfortable.would stay again.
