Nice two night stay.
We stopped in room 7 an Epicurean suite, very nice indeed, however it has a number of internal steps, a raised platform for the bed, another for the toilet, a separate one for the shower and another for the clothes hanging rail in the bathroom (no wardrobe in the bedroom). All of these are a bit challenging especially at night. My wife took a nasty fall off the step when reaching for clothes on the hanging rail, so bad she even knocked the shower door clean off its rails.
We notified the receptionist the following morning, who was apologetic and we changed room.
The Sunday night evening meal was ok, the venison was lovely but the meal was only lukewarm. My wife has monkfish which was very nice too but the potatoes were all too hard to eat. No one asked us if we enjoyed our meal so we gave no feedback however we did cancel our dinner reservation for the second night. Strangely, no one aske why.
The breakfast was great, large selection and very well presented. The staff at breakfast time were helpful and very friendly.
The spa is really nice, very clean and not too busy. This was the highlight for us and we highly recommend this.

Avoid room number 10
Sadly our room - number 10 - was so dark and dingy thanks a fire escape, which meant we had weird steps in the room and a window we couldn’t leave open in the heat. I’d explained before arrival that our stay was a gift for my 40th and would be our first child-free night in over a year, so it was a real shame we were given what we could see from the room plan was the worst room in the hotel.
Anyway, the darkness was exacerbated by the colour drenched dark grey on the walls and ceiling. If you like dark, this is the room for you. If you’re expecting a view of the beautiful grounds and surroundings, you’re out of luck. The TV didn’t work and the shower was a boiling hot trickle of water.
I asked at the spa reception if we could move rooms and was told we were fully booked. After the dismal shower and being unable to watch TV, I decided to message reception on the evening (as no phone in the room) and was offered another room at 10.30pm by which time I was in my PJs and frankly couldn’t be bothered to move everything.
Other disappointing areas are the lack of proper loungers by the pool - not sure who wants to sit upright at a spa? The gardens at the back are in desperate need of some TLC. And avoid the orange juice in the spa. I expected fresh juice and it was like that cheap brightly coloured liquid you get at a three-star all inclusive breakfast in Magaluf.
Dinner was delicious and service here was good. Breakfast was ok - anaemic sausages, hardly any fresh fruit or pastries.
They kindly took our evening meal off our bill but honestly I’d have happily paid double and had a nicer experience. We were there for a much-needed escape and the dark room with dysfunctional elements fell short.

Unfortunately we will not be returning in the near future.
