Beautiful and Brand New Hotel..... Friendly and Attentive Service, Highest Welcoming highly recommended. Experience to repeat.

A special memory

The stay at the Grand Hotel Poltu Quatu was really special, this year I stayed there on two occasions in early July and early August. The hotel is not fully operational due to major renovations, only 60 rooms out of more than 200 are open. The work, however, does not disturb the guests' stay and is even offered a 20% discount. The structure is really very beautiful, the architect Lesuisse has really enhanced the typical taste of the island with harmony and colors that recall the uncontaminated nature of Sardinia. The structure dominates the port of Poltu Quatu which is the frame, at the center of the hotel there is a large swimming pool with waterfalls and many comfortable sun loungers. Above a smaller pool also with waterfall just outside the room (if you go out you trip helmets in the pool! said a friend). The property offers access to a well-equipped gym the Heaven sporting club where you train with a yacht view. The hotel does not have a private beach and organizes comfortable shuttles to Liscia Ruja beach, one of the most beautiful beaches of the Costa Smeralda, where it offers comfortable umbrellas and sun loungers at the Shardana establishment. The rooms in typical Sardinian style, which will now be renovated, still offer all the comforts expected in a hotel of this category. Bulgari bath products are of high quality, there is a porter service that also accompanies guests on a golf cart, a tribute to the very kind Carlo. The rooms, very clean, faithfully respect what is advertised on the site and often generous upgrades are made. Free mineral water and coffee capsules and hot drinks are offered in the room, I really appreciate this and it is not obvious. Breakfast this year is served directly in the restaurant between the lobby and the pool where in the past there was the Ishter restaurant and offers excellent quality products even if slightly reduced compared to the past, but inevitably the renovation limits the spaces. The structure is really convenient if you want to spend the evening in some local Poltu Quatu and for the privileged location between Porto Cervo or Baja Sardinia everything is really a few minutes by car, taxi or boat. The staff does their best to ensure guests have a wonderful stay and to make them feel at home, thanks to Dorina in reception and a special thanks to Beatrice, very kind, sunny, empathetic, fundamental in a hotel of this level. I look forward to staying there again and look forward to the news next year. The entry into Marriott is rumored to become a W hotel and would be an additional plus to this already special hotel.

Poor product offered for the money paid

More cons than pros I'm afraid. Property is nice, location us good, they provide free luxury shuttle to nearest beach, staff nice and helpful, nice bathroom with Bulgari toiletries. On the other hand there's no Air-conditioning in the room, room is small for the money paid, construction noises at the pool, have to pay right away for items consumed (can't sign on the room). Breakfast variety of items very limited although they had a nice selection of good quality fruit. The cherry on the cake was when they made us sign a contract for iron and ironing board like we're buying a house ....not expected in a hotel where you pay 500 to 800 eur per night. Not recommended. Highly overpriced for the product offered.

We anticipate that all upgrades will be completed by next year, significantly enhancing the guest experience.
The procedure for borrowing an iron and ironing board is a simple measure to ensure the return of these items. We recognize that it may have felt cumbersome, and we apologize for any inconvenience this caused.
We take all guest feedback seriously, as it helps us improve our services. Your comments will be shared with the relevant teams to ensure we address these issues and enhance the experience for future guests. We regret that your stay did not reflect the high standards we aim to uphold, especially considering the rates.

BAD!

We hired the hotel, a transfer that would pick us up at the airport, we got there, and nothing, we picked up a taxi, first failure!
The shower cabin was spoiled, 24 hs after I complained for 3x was still not arranged.
I hired a transfer from the hotel to pick me up on a beach, and believe me, I've been waiting for over an hour.
Employees react ironically when asked about the provision of service.
Not recommend, there are good hotels in the area, and seeing the reviews you have great chances of being better than here!
Go running!!!! ⁇

Regarding the transfer arranged for 9:00 AM, You reached out at 8:50 AM to inquire about the driver's location at the Airport. The driver, as per standard procedure, present at the designated meeting point with a sign for identification. Unfortunately, it appears there was some search problem upon the exit, but as we later discovered at just 9:05 AM you had already opted for a taxi. Nothing that a call could have potentially avoided this inconvenience.
As for the shower cabin, we ensured that the pivot was checked and fully functional prior to your arrival. We are happy that the the broken safety stop worked and avoided more serious injure, Once the Pin broke, we had needed the time to purchase and mount a new one and we are pleased that the situation was resolved in line with our commitment to guest satisfaction and safety.
Concerning the staff interactions, we take any perception of irony or unprofessional behavior seriously, as it is not reflective of the high standards we strive to maintain. We kindly request that you provide us with more specific details about the incident, such as the context and the individuals involved. This information will enable us to address the matter appropriately and ensure that such instances do not recur, as maintaining a respectful and welcoming environment is our utmost priority.

Pleasant surprise

We were surprised at how pretty the hotel is. While it is not a 5" hotel, even the old rooms are very pleasing. Spacious and very clean, as is all the hotel. The renovated rooms are beautifuly done and very functional. Two sinks, plenty of closet storage. Great Bulgari bathroom amenities. That alone is warrants a return trip. The pool is large, with comfortable beds and airy. The hotel offers access to a very good off site gym, three minutes walking. (Though not always air conditioned.) Breakfast is good, but the restaurant could be more inviting. The pool lunch is ok, but the salad portions were very small and quite expensive. You are less about 10 minutes to Porto Cervo. There was some construction ongoing, which at times was a little disruptive. Very friendly staff. We did not use the complentary beach, but certainly nice the hotel offers this.
