A perfect oasis of elegant calm
About midway on the coast between Bari and Brindisi is the charming L’Ulivo run by Silvia and her family, which is a warmly recommended. A modern farm conversion, yet it is laid out like an old Roman villa with a series of arched colonnades around a beautiful lawn populated with 1000 year old olive trees and pomegranate trees. The overall setting is a splendid oasis of elegant calm. The rooms are simple, but more than adequate, and the whole setting is delightful.
Inset at the end of the gardens is a perfect swimming pool with sun loungers. The site is about 1 km back from the coast village of Savelletri. There is no meal apart from a very pleasant and inventive breakfast, but Silvia will direct you to any local restaurants for the evenings. We looked at several in town which seemed to compete with each other over 100 bright ideas to do with a raw octopus.
The adjacent coast, although heavily frequented for swimming, consists of no more than a series of rock ledges and minuscule strip sand beaches until further down the coast at Pilone, where the beach opens out to some size.
The truly town of Alberobello is about 20 minutes drive up in the hills and it is worth a visit despite the hordes of tourists having converted it into a mediaeval Disneyland.

Perfect vacation. Definitely to be repeated.
We stayed at B&B L'Ulivo at the beginning of August. The property is very well maintained, it is a real gem, everything clean and perfect. Our room was spacious and with the stone vault, really cute and charming. The breakfast is sweet and savory, it was nothing short of excellent! We were pampered by Silvia who, together with Sandro and their collaborators, made our stay perfect. In addition, the tranquility you enjoy by the pool is truly unparalleled. For us it was undoubtedly the best holiday ever!!!

Not to be missed Amazing retreat
Amazing peaceful property & beautiful manicured grounds. The swimming pool is great & we loved every minute here...Sylvia is the perfect hostess & makes a delicious breakfast with a great variety of home made delicacies. The staff are very welcoming and lovely Toto the blind dog is adorable. We used the bikes & Sylvia acted as a personal assistant, by recommending & booking local restaurants. Thank you Sylvia for making our stay so special ❤️

Exceptional all round venue
Where to start?
Sylvia is the loveliest host you can imagine. Knows all the local haunts and also runs one of the very best B&B that we have visited. Everything here is superlative- rooms spacious, bathrooms excellent. Breakfasts- wow! Everything is home made or locally sourced, and served individually. The pool is fully tiled, with a lovely outdoor shower. Security is great, with onsite parking behind electric gates. The B&B is set amongst 1000 year old olive trees, and is simply stunning. I cannot recommend this venue more highly.

Home away from home in beautiful Puglia!
Silvia, where do we begin! What a joy it was to share in the experience of your magical place. My partner and I felt so welcomed and at home. The homemade breakfast was delicious - we miss those figs, the fresh ricotta cheese and the incredible (and gluten free) spelt cake! Our rooms were always so clean with fresh linens and waters. Thank you for helping me find a driver to take us to multiple events and helping me find a hair dresser in town - absolutely fantastic!
To say we enjoyed ourselves is an understatement.. it really felt like a relaxing home away from home. We send you, Nunzia, and sweet Toto the dog well wishes from Toronto! Until we see you again soon! Ciao!
