A budget gem with a heart

We really liked this hotel. Yes it’s a bit well worn but the beds were clean and comfortable and the pool was essential. It had a very relaxed atmosphere. And at that price for b&b we felt any shortcomings of the buildings were more than compensated for by the great customer service and friendly, helpful staff, especially Regina who answered no end of our questions with a smile.
The breakfast is continental, I would recommend the fresh croissants with cheese, tomato and lettuce filling.
There is a bus stop nearby with buses to the station although a taxi is only about €10.
The furnicular up to the lovely Monticatini Alto is an 8 minute walk. There is a fabulous terrace restaurant 2 mins away and a bakery just across the road. A 15 min walk through the park, goes right past the wonderful old thermal baths and into the old town centre 5 mins from the old train station with regular trains to Pisa, Florence and the fabulous Lucca. It provided an excellent base and a cool dip in the afternoon.

Unpretentious structure

We stayed on a half-board basis.
We had a good experience.
An unpretentious structure but with a welcoming and hospitable staff.
Cuisine with simple but fresh dishes.
Good breakfast.
Outdated rooms but clean.

The hotel of horrors.

Nightmare hotel, room without air conditioning, not to mention the bed (made up of a wooden board and two thin mattresses).
Better to sleep on the street than to spend €50 to sleep in a place like this.
I do not recommend it!

No. Not recommended even to your worst enemy DO NOT GO TO THE RESTAURANT OF THE HOTEL 60€ per night a shabby place worse than a motel to 1star tiny rooms remembering Garibaldi No better sleep on the street

Bad experience

We chose this hotel because it is very pet friendly, cheap but in a very bad state of maintenance, tiles in the broken corridors, small pool and always in the shade and dirty main cause surrounding trees, the pool chairs were almost all broken, in the room the air conditioner could not be turned off because centralized, and when we were there it was 20 degrees and it was fine without, the toilet box was leaking water and there was no way to stop it, the shutter was broken and could not be closed, the general state of cleanliness is poor, breakfast focuses so much on croissants, easily frozen, I drank a cappuccino that tasted like cardboard. We took advantage of half board, rather poor food, the first night we were brought cheese for pasta with mold. The bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows as well. We slept terrible. The staff is friendly and hospitable, but it is clear that the hotel is in a state of disrepair and decay probably because they have no revenue. There is a small free parking and it is close to the center. We were supposed to stay two nights but stayed one night only for family problems and still paid for two nights. I'm sorry for the staff who work there because they have all been kind to us and our Goofy but we will never return.
