shh! Don’t tell! Villarena stole our hearts
Shh… don’t tell everyone—but we found the most wonderful place on the Amalfi Coast, where you truly experience its delights: the people, the culture, the lemon trees, the sea and sun… and above all, a deep respect for local produce, transformed into delicious meals and paired with beautiful wines (and, of course, limoncello).
At Villarena, this isn’t just dining it’s a philosophy. Everything is rooted in the land: vegetables from their own organic garden, local cheeses, and carefully chosen wines, all celebrating authentic, seasonal flavours.
Guglielmo, Mariateresa, and the whole team wrapped their arms around us from the moment we booked to the very sad day we had to leave. You don’t feel like a guest here you feel part of something personal, something shared.
This was our second visit to Villarena, and returning felt like coming home. Just as magical as the first if not more so.

Our “smultronställe”
Again we were warmly welcomed by Guglielmo, our host.
Villarena is a fantastic place on the Amalfi Coast. Beautiful garden full of lemon trees and flowers. Charming rooms and apartments. We have “our permanent” apartment.
And the food - Mediterranean food in its proper sense. Organic and short travel, and often with “catch of the day” from the sea. Here is food and wine culture!
We have been on hiking in the mountains, visited Marina Nerano (a walk or short bus ride down), bathed and ate lunch. We have been on unforgettable boat trips and we have celebrated friends' round days in the beautiful garden, wonderfully arranged.
All along we have been warmly cared for by Guglielmo and Mariateresa.
Villarena has become our “smultronställe” - we just want to come back.
