Excellent hotel in a less than excellent location
An excellent hotel with one of the most beautiful rooms I have ever stayed in. The quality of the materials used in the room was outstanding, with beautiful marble in the bathroom to gorgeous woodwork covering the walls. The bed was also wonderful, including having a proper full duvet instead of a separate duvet for each member of the couple - great bed and dark room made for great sleep, and isn't that perhaps the best of any vacation?
The kitchen was excellent, including in the main dining room (one night), room service (one night) and the lobby bar (one night) - each with different menus. The lobby bar in particular had a great menu and excellent service. The main dining room has a more formal menu, so it was nice to have the other dining options. We did not try the Michelin-starred Grual restaurant.
The primary spa area is nice, though not as beautiful as the rest of the hotel's interior - seems like the design budget ran out perhaps? The primary (large) whirlpool is in a pretty soulless pale pink/beige room with a distant view (through the relaxation room) of the mountains. The sauna itself is fairly small for a hotel of this size, though there was an attractive small cold plunge pool. The two pool areas were lovely however.
The front desk service was exceptional, with special kudos for Valentina, who was excellent at understanding questions and responding to them as asked. The lobby bar personnel were very attentive and helpful. The restaurant staff was more functional than impressive, but they got the job done.
The one noteworthy drawback of the hotel is the location. For hiking, there just isn't much in the immediate area at all (the main hiking in the area starts from Madonna di Campiglio). For winter, there is a lift nearby but that goes to the limited Pinzolo runs and it takes some time to transport via lifts to the primary Madonna di Campiglio slopes. Put this hotel in MdC and it would be a real winner - as it is, it is an excellent hotel in a somewhat less than exceptional location (though still with a lovely view).

Beautiful hotel
We were completely thrilled! We were warmly welcomed, had a very nice room, and a great, large breakfast. We especially liked the pool and sauna area very much and enjoyed spending time there. The free e-bike rental was also a great surprise and we enjoyed using it. Our short trip was a complete success – we would have liked to stay even longer!

Willing to spend, yes, willing to let myself be milked, no.
Beautiful property. Wonderful spa and a room of the same level. In summary, given the price range it falls into, I would define it as in line with the properties of the same level that I have visited in South Tyrol in recent years.
A special mention to the dining room service at the Grual restaurant; I was very happy to leave a €50 tip. I am stating the amount not out of arrogance (there are certainly those who leave more) but to give a measure of the things that have value to me and for which I am willing to pay "extra," and of the things that for me are real insults to the person (like those I list below).
Let's get to what I didn't like at all and what makes me say "I won't return."
-spa treatments have different prices on the weekend. Why? Never seen that in any other property of the same level.
-the prices for drinks (but also for food, more or less) are identical to the starred restaurant and the bar (although the bar offers other types of dishes). Spring water €8.
(I'm sorry I don't have the Ferrari price list on hand to give you the HoReCa price of the water). I am talking about what I drank: Barolo Brovia Rocche di Castiglione 2021, HoReCa cost without applied discounts 66+VAT, sold for €235. Around 230 (I don't remember if it was 225 or 235) also for Barolo Cavallotto Bricco Boschis 2021, HoReCa price 59+VAT. On the menu, among the things that caught my eye, a Timorasso that costs 15.50+VAT list price, sold for €90.
Some would say: "Well, you go to these properties, you can afford these amounts." Yes, that's true. What I don't like, however, is feeling like a cash cow. None of us knows exactly why one pays 700/800/1000 € per night for a double room in these facilities; since I am already paying 700, make me pay 800 and sell me water for 5€ and wine with decent markups… I will even accept the 5€ coffee and a glass of Riserva Lunelli for 28€. But the water… the wine… for me they are indecent things. They totally give me the idea of what I am to the facility hosting me: a person to be milked. The wine list, incidentally, is not visible on the website, otherwise I certainly would not have booked here.

La nostra selezione gastronomica ed enologica è il risultato di un'attenta ricerca, della scelta di prodotti e produttori di eccellenza e di un servizio che desidera essere coerente con il posizionamento del Resort.
