Gasometer fans read on
Basic but functional, and owner very helpful. The area is a little down-at-heel and the road from the railway station wouldn't be out of place in Aleppo. However, the location is excellent with direct trains to the airport, central Rome, the Vatican and Civitavecchia (cruise ship terminal).

Fantastic B&B!!!
Firstly I must mention that my partner & I stayed at Barbara's other property as this one was full. A few days before our visit she messaged us with directions and photos of the new property which was great! As soon as we arrived she sat with us, gave us a map of Rome & talked us through all the famous attractions and how best to get around them... this was really helpful & we discovered places we perhaps wouldn't have thought of :) The room was so clean & tidy & really modern, the air conditioning was great & the bathroom had an excellent shower which was stocked with many toiletries! The open kitchen was perfect, loved having the freedom to use it whenever... and it was always stocked up! Barbara also kindly let us store our bags there on our last day as we had an evening flight. It is also worth mentioning that the location is great and it is very easy to get around.
Nothing was a problem & she made us feel at home. Would definitely recommend and we will be staying here again if we come back to Rome!

Lovely place to stay in Rome
We had 2 rooms as we were a family of 4. Barbara is a lovely lady and everything was clean and safe. It was easy to get to the sights of Rome and to get to other places in Italy (main line station nearby too). The small kitchen was available all the time with a supermarket nearby so I was able to make sandwiches for picnics. Lovely pizza places and a fabulous restaurant (Estrobar) and ice cream parlour nearby (Gelateria La Romana).

Fantastic Stay
My wife and I stayed at Barbara's other B and B Residenza Matteucci for a week because this one was full. Prior to our arrival Barbara emailed us the directions from the train station to the B and B including a picture of the front door making it very easy to find. Although there is a lot of graffiti in the neighbourhood and much of Rome, we found the neighbourhood to be very safe. Residenza Matteucci is modern, new and extremely clean. Barbara greeted us at the door, gave us a map of Rome and provided us with all the necessary information of getting around Rome to visit the various sites (including buses and the metro). Although we walked to every attraction (20 min. to the Colloseum, and an hour to the Vatican) we did use the Metro a couple of times and found it very easy to use and cheap at 1.50 Euro. The kitchen and eating area is available 24/7 and Barbara keeps the fridge fully stocked with water, juice, milk, yogourts and treats as well as a variety of other breakfast options. Across the street is one of the best places to get a gelato which we did every day, 2 euros for 2 scoops and cream on top, Wow! If we are in Rome again we will definitely stay here and we recommend it 100%. Thank you Barbara for a wonderful stay in Rome!

The ultimate hostess
I read the reviews prior to booking this B&B and felt it to be a great choice. My travelling companions had not and were a little concerned to say the least when we first arrived. There is a lot of graffiti in the area and when we arrived they were in the midst of some kind of job action around the garbage. After meeting Barbara and seeing the accommodations their anxieties were allayed. Barbara is the ultimate hostess - friendly, positive, accommodating and very informative. The rooms are spotless and very comfortable with all the amenities. The kitchen is "open" 24 hours and is re-stocked daily with a great variety of food and drinks. As for the neighborhood we enjoyed walking around it and there are a number of good places to eat and drink. A lot of locals come there just for that. It is also a short walk to the metro and train stations and very easy to get to Fiumicino for a mere 8 euros. The coliseum is only 2 stops away on the metro and you could even walk if the heat is not too great. We look forward to returning to Barbara's when we return to Rome and we will certainly recommend her B&B to anyone going there.
