Pleasant out of town lively hotel
Booked this for proximity to an event. It’s a peculiar hotel. Stranded between the 15foot high walls keeping you out of one of Romes biggest parks, and traffic lanes with no pavements, you’re a prisoner without the aid of a taxi or car. No strolling out of the grounds if you had that in mind.
Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff, particularly the maitre de at the breakfast/lunch restaurant, who seems to be ecstatic you’ve chosen there, despite there being no other choice and welcomes you like returning heroes. He’s a delight.
Mildly baffling but pleasantly unpretentious demographic. Big cheerful families treating it as a resort ( there’s a very big pool) people like us attending events, Italian couples, and a lot of Americans being .. very American.
Regarding the pool, it’s Olympic size and very deep, with only two ‘lifeguards’ who sit under an umbrella at a low table handing out towels paying little or no attention to aquatic activity. The guests with children, who choose to lie on the cheap, uncomfortable, but oddly jealously guarded sun beds all day, they seem unaware of how dangerous it is for unsupervised children. But it’s a lovely pool for a proper swim.
Sixties/ refurb mash up decor with a splendid staircase and plenty pleasant places to sit.
We were there two nights and the room was never serviced, but it didn’t really bother us on such a short stay.
Good choice if you want a pool, twenty minute taxi to city centre, and noisy casual and unpretentious fellow guests.

Hotel Spectacular My Option in Rome
This hotel is simply spectacular!
Very well located about 10-15 min in the main attractions of the historic city.
We went to the city in the morning and returned in the evening by taxi always spending between 15-20 Euros.
The hotel had a shuttle service a few times a day but we ended up using the taxi that arrived in minutes when we requested.
Breakfast is abundant in options but a bit noisy and full:
The AcquaVita restaurant is excellent for a quiet lunch meal at the Hotel. And at night the Terraza and a great option to eat or drink with an incredible view of Rome.
It is worth talking about the silence of this hotel because we slept very well - the view of the rooms and to the pool and very nice. The rooms are good and new and the bathrooms are also quite comfortable.
It is definitely my choice in Rome for this and upcoming visits!!!

Great hotel on edge of Rome - a superb pool
The pool is truly stunning. The water is just the right temperature; and the sunbeds comfortable and you can have as many pool towels as you like.
The pizzas from the pool bar are 10/10. Super clean hotel and the staff were so helpful and friendly - especially reception .
The hotel is exceptionally clean and I highly recommend it as an out of the centre of Rome choice.

Very Solid 4 Star Hotel
We travelled as a family of four and had interconnecting rooms. The rooms themselves were very spacious with a charming seating area and large balconies. The decor is dark but modern. The fittings are in generally good condition with some small areas of wear (to be expected). Excellent AC. The cleaning staff are exceptional and the room and bathroom were immaculately clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and we all had a good night’s sleep each night.
The common parts are equally modern and spacious. The roof bar is delightful although the service was slow (25 mins wait for 2 drinks).
The pool area is also very clean and spacious with a lovely pool. The loungers are somewhat uncomfortable but this is not a resort holiday and so, it is perfectly serviceable for the 2-3 hours spent around the pool.
The staff are generally warm and accommodating with particular praise for the front desk staff who, without exception, were extremely attentive and helpful at all times.
We had one issue with food during our stay as this hotel is not equipped to deal with food allergies. The breakfast is particularly challenging and the onsite restaurants do not have a single dish (except salad) that does not contain nuts - including the pizza! We were also asked to sign waivers before eating which is not reassuring. I provided feedback to the hotel manager, Stefano, who listened attentively and took the comments well. He most generously removed the cost of breakfast for one of our children for our entire stay - as our son was too scared to eat in the hotel after the waiver signing request. This response was very much appreciated.
Food allergies aside, the breakfast was the most disappointing aspect of the stay. The quality of the sausages was poor, the bacon was greasy. The cereal area is chaotic with small open tubs stacked on a ‘staircase’ style display. This means that everything is cross contaminated and it also makes getting a decent sized portion of cereal very difficult. There is a lack of thought in the tea and coffee area as there are no teaspoons etc. The staff in this area are not as friendly or accommodating as elsewhere in the hotel.
Overall, the hotel is a very spacious, clean and welcoming place to stay, away from the Rome crowds but close enough for all the sights.

Perfect family hotel for a visit to Rome – would come back anytime!
We spent several nights as a family at the Hotel Villa Pamphili and would come back anytime.
We particularly liked the combination of proximity to the city and the opportunity for relaxation. By car or taxi you are quickly in the center of Rome and can wonderfully relax by the large pool after a long day of sightseeing.
The breakfast was excellent – large selection, high-quality products even if it got quite crowded. The rooftop restaurant also thrilled us. The food was excellent and the view over Rome in the evening makes the visit a real experience. Important: Make a reservation, otherwise you will wait a very long time for a table in the evening.
Our family room was modern, spacious, and functionally designed. Two separate bedrooms, two balconies, a small additional toilet, as well as a small kitchen offer a lot of comfort, especially for families. The bathrooms appear high-quality and contemporary.
The only point of criticism was an occasionally unpleasant smell from the drain. Apart from that, the rooms were clean and we felt very comfortable.
The numerous parking spaces and the available charging options for electric cars are also very practical – a big plus for arriving in your own vehicle.
Conclusion: The Villa Pamphili fully met our expectations. Modern rooms, outstanding breakfast, a great pool, excellent gastronomy, and an ideal location for a city trip to Rome. Clear recommendation – we would love to come back!
