Another wonderful week in Hotel Club Sorrento

My partner and myself have just returned from yet another wonderful week in Hotel Club Sorrento.
This was, in fact, our third time staying here in this small family run hotel, situated on the outskirts of Sorrento but within fairly easy walking distance of the centre of Sorrento (approximately one and a half miles) or just one stop on the train (a 6-10 min. walk to the nearby train station) and also a convenient bus stop, just around the corner.
The hotel is immaculately kept with a pleasant little bar area on the ground floor. Although we didn’t actually use the pool as we preferred to go out exploring, it seemed to be well used and is situated in pleasant grounds. The guest rooms are small but with tasteful decor and lighting. There is a safe and air conditioning at no extra cost. A kettle and small fridge is provided, along with a decent hair dryer, fixed in the en-suite. The shower is good with plenty of hot water at all times. There is no wardrobe but a hanging rail for clothing is perfectly adequate. Rooms are cleaned daily to a very high standard and clean towels also provided daily, along with a top-up of complimentary toiletries.
Breakfast is served between 7 and 9.30am and is of a very good standard (continental style) ie cold meats, cheese, hard boiled eggs, bread, croissants and pastries, cakes, tomatoes, yogurt and breakfast cereal. There is also a hot breakfast of scrambled and fried eggs, mushrooms, beans, bacon and continental style sausage. A toaster is provided along with tea, coffee, etc. This is a buffet meal.
Evening meal menu is given out at breakfast to select your choice for the evening. Dinner is served to you and is a three course meal, consisting of a starter of soup, pasta or salad and main dish of fish, a meat dish eg chicken or pork with sautéed potatoes or fries and salad. Dessert is often fruit from the hotel garden. Everything, although not huge portions, was enjoyable and a perfectly adequate amount after three courses!
The hotel staff, mostly family members, are extremely friendly and helpful…..simply lovely people, providing a lovely service in a lovely little hotel.

Lovely hotel just outside of sorento

Amazing hotel with lovely staff. The hotel is just outside of sorento (roughly 15-20 mins walk or a 10 minute bus journey) making the ideal place to avoid the busy crowds. All the Staff were amazing and always a delight to speak too, they even gave us some cake for my boyfriends birthday, aswell as bringing us beach towels when they realised we didn't have any by the pool. Another great thing was how quiet the pool area was and how close of a walk it was to the nearest beach meaning we could still enjoy the sea but not have to deal with sorentos busy beache's. The rooms were cleaned everyday and the views from our balcony were lovely as we were facing a lemon garden. If I was to come to sorento again I would 100% stay here and was great value for money. Thankyou very much for the lovely stay!

Best value family run hotel in Sorrento

This was our third visit to this hotel and we have already booked for next year!
The staff are very friendly, helpful and approachable. They will always try to go the extra mile to sort out any issues. (We have never had any problems in three visits)
Breakfast is an all you can eat buffet, with both English and continental choices. You order your evening meal from a menu given to you at breakfast. This is then fresh cooked for you when you arrive for your evening meal.
Room cleaning and fresh towels are provided every day. There is air con in every room, a fridge, hairdryer, kettle and a free safe.
Sorrento is a between 30-45 minutes walk, approximately 1.5 miles, and there is a back way which avoids the main road. The station is close by, as is the bus stop.
The bathrooms are perfectly adequate, as is the shower. Plenty of hot water is available.

Sorrento.

Brilliant location for train and buses. Just give your selves plenty of time. Family run hotel great staff. Very friendly and welcoming. Lovely pool,. Good food room with a view. Will be back next year. Thank you Louige and Josephine x

Great Base of Operations

Our family used this hotel for four days / three night as our base for the Sorrento area (Pompeii, Capri, Amalfi, Positano, Ravello and Sorrento). It is conveniently located next to the Sant'Agnello train station on the Circumvesuviana line and also a bus stop. You can cheaply use either option to get to Sorrento, where you can access the ferries to travel the region. However, we always just made the 20-minute walk into town. This family-owned hotel is very clean, and the staff is wonderful. Ask for Luigi, who will go out of his way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. I recommend including the breakfast in your rate. It is typical European breakfast fare and provided a good light meal to start the day (they will fill your water bottle from the kitchen or the main floor bar if you ask). I will note that when traveling, we typically use a hotel mainly for sleeping and showering; we don't spend a lot of time in the room. We therefore don't need anything fancy / expensive and instead look for value. Hotel Club Sorrento fit this criteria perfectly. We would most definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.
