Sweet little spot in Scilla - recommend for English speaking travellers

We had a comfortable stay at Hotel Scilla. We arrived earlier than expected and they were happy to check us in early. We found street parking right out the front. We decided to park and walk to explore. It was a quite a walk to the water down many stairs, but we just took it slowly and took rest in the shade when we could. Our room included a lovely little balcony, mini fridge with complimentary water, air-conditioning & bathroom soaps.
The hotel staff spoke some English which was helpful when giving us directions. Breakfast of fresh pastries, cakes, juice & coffee was included on the terrace.
We would definitely recommend for English speaking travellers.

Family stay

We stayed for 3 days at Hotel Scilla Dive with my husband and our two children and it was a truly very positive experience.
From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by Miss Maria, who kindly came to pick us up at the station. She was very helpful and friendly and also gave us lots of useful information about local spots and places to visit.
The hotel is very characteristic and our room was quite spacious, clean and with everything necessary in perfect working order. We particularly appreciated the breakfast, served on the terrace, with a good variety of products.
A special thanks goes to the ladies and the young man who took care of breakfast: always kind, friendly and attentive to our needs. We especially appreciated the little attentions they had towards our children and in particular towards our little girl.
The hotel's location is truly excellent and allowed us to fully enjoy the beauty of Scilla. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality! Super positive experience and hotel absolutely recommended! ❤️

Avoid it!

Let's clarify! Scilla is developed on two levels, the seaside area and that of the elevated village. One is lively, with small clubs, beach clubs, and evening strolls, while the other is more isolated and frequented mostly by the local elderly people. The two areas are connected by steep stairs or alternatively by a public elevator that, for the modest price of $4 round trip, will take you down. Obviously the hotel is located in the upper part, and it is truly inconvenient to go to the beach starting from there. The property is very small internally, such that it reminds one more of a private home than a hotel. It is also family-run, of the type where you will find the owner's underage nephew making your coffee in the morning. Those looking for discretion and professionalism will certainly have come to the wrong place. You will feel as if you were at your aunt's house, who watches you eat at the end of breakfast and asks you "why didn't you finish your fruit" or who, while replacing the croissants, grabs one with her hands to eat it. On-site parking is non-existent, but for the modest sum of $15 a day, they allow you to park in their cramped basement. We booked a suite but found ourselves in a room furnished with Ikea-like outdoor side tables instead of nightstands. Upon reporting our dissatisfaction, we were offered a downgrade to an economy room, while the identical suite, only $15 more but nicer, was not offered to us in the slightest because, probably, customer satisfaction is not worth that amount.

Excellent hotel

Recommended hotel to fully enjoy Scilla. Very cute and welcoming atmosphere. Very clean property. Excellent breakfast with a view of the sea. The owner is very kind and available for any advice. We will definitely be back
