A charming location
Petralava is a really charming location, not far from the sea and with a fantastic view on the Etna volcano.
My wife and me spent 5 days there and the permanence was wonderful also thanks to Toni, the owner, very warm in
hospitality and ever available to satisfy any our need.
The room (apartment in our case) could be improved in heating (too hot or too cold and this is the reason of 4 stars instead of 5) but is well-finished, with few amenities and clean, but the atmosphere you can breath is unique and it makes the difference.
If you are organizing a stay in the Etna area, Petralava is our suggestion

Vacation
This place is quite unique. It's a pretty villa surrounded by beautiful orchards and gardens with a breathtaking view of the Etna. The host is lovely and accomodating. It's ideal for a short stay if you're visiting Etna.

Fabulous
It was the perfect setting in a historical villa from the 1800’s for a peaceful tranquil weekend away. Beautiful surroundings, lots of greenery, gorgeous wooden beam ceiling rooms with air conditioning and a large terrace, ocean and volcano views, horses, stunning vegetable patch, Sicilian ceramics, and a fabulous continental breakfast on the terrace which included local pastries, cakes, boiled eggs, salami and cheese, cereals, tea & coffee, juices etc. The rooms are spotlessly clean and large. The air conditioning worked very well.
Upon arriving, Tony the very attentive owner came to greet us and show us to our room. He then welcomed us with an aperitivo of homemade limoncello and mandarin liquor. Tony was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. He took us around the villa for an excellent historical summary about the villa, showed us the horses, even let us pick some vegetables from the patch. So genuine and we felt like friends not customers. Grazie mille Tony alla prossima!

Perfect place near Mount Etna
From the moment we arrived at Petralava, I knew this would be a great experience. Tony (our host) met us at the gate with a warm smile. He showed us to the room we booked but suggested we might want to take a look at another room that was available. Turns out the 2nd room had an incredible patio at roof level that gave us a magnificent view of the sea and Mount Etna. The room and the property were clean and very tastefully decorated with antiques.
The grounds of the B&B are quite beautiful with fruit trees, a couple of horses, palm trees and a pool. The location is perfect to visit the volcano and go to the sea.
We had the breakfast one morning for 5€ each and it was delicious with many local treats.
Wish we could have stayed longer than our 3 nights. Highly recommend this B&B.

Very nice bed and breakfast not far from Giarre, an area that is perfect if you want both trekking on the Etna Volcano and take a visit to Catania or Aci Trezza. It is just 30 km far from the famous Taormina. The structure includes an amazing swimming pool, with a view on the sea. From the rooms you can see also the Etna Volcano. The breakfast is at the same level of many 4 stars hotel. The owner is very kind and speaks also French. I had also an Etna Morning trekking, and the tour operator picked me up directly from the BnB. To reach it you have to rent a car and be helped by Google Maps or a good paper map. The room was large and nice.
