Hotel Metropole the most charming hotel ever
We had the most wonderful two-day stay – it truly felt like a dream. This is not just a hotel, but a place with soul and character. The beautiful antiques create an elegant and authentic Venetian atmosphere, making every room unique.
What made our stay truly exceptional was the incredibly warm and personal hospitality. The staff were outstanding: professional, attentive, genuinely caring, and always one step ahead. They made us feel more like welcomed guests than customers.
Everything was simply perfect. We will always remember these two unforgettable days and cannot wait to return. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a truly special experience in Venice.

Simply just perfect
It was a truly wonderful experience. Every smallest detail was perfected. Having worked in the luxury conference industry for 35 years, I feel qualified to say that this was simply outstanding. From the exceptional staff to the facilities and the rooms, everything exceeded expectations.

Family owned gem in Venice.
Arriving at the hotel's private dock by water taxi set the tone for the entire stay. From that very first moment, we knew we were somewhere truly spectacular. The rooms are absolutely beautiful, perfectly blending style and comfort, and the service throughout our stay was flawless.
Because the hotel remains proudly family-owned, an authentic care and meticulous attention to detail shine through in every corner of the property. Every staff member we encountered was incredibly warm, welcoming, and eager to assist with local recommendations or questions. It is a rare and special experience, and we would love nothing more than to return on our next trip to Venice.

Lovely Venetian Hotel
Lovely family run hotel. The decor was very Venetian which is what we were looking for. The hotel is beautiful and has a lovely outside area for breakfast or drinks. The owners collect art and other items which are beautifully displayed throughout the hotel. The staff are brilliant.

Wonderful Historic Hotel in a Perfect Venice Location
We have just returned from a fantastic 4-night stay at the Metropole Venice and would happily stay here again.
From the moment we arrived by water taxi, the experience felt special. We were met at the hotel’s canal entrance by the reception team, checked in efficiently, and our luggage was taken directly to our room. We were personally shown to our room and given a thorough introduction to its features.
Our room overlooked a side canal and was beautiful, full of character and charm. The air conditioning was excellent and very much appreciated during the 30°C+ temperatures. The hotel itself is wonderfully quirky, packed with history, and its antique collections across all floors add to the unique atmosphere.
The location is perfect, right outside is a vaperetto stop – St Mark’s Square is less than 5 minutes away, while Rialto Bridge is around a 20-minute walk. Despite being so central, the hotel still felt peaceful and relaxing.
Service throughout our stay was excellent. Staff were consistently friendly and quickly recognised us, often handing over our room key without us even needing to ask. The traditional keys for both the room and safe felt unusual at first compared to modern key cards, but actually encouraged pleasant daily interactions with the staff and eliminated the worry of losing a key card whilst out and about.
Housekeeping was impressive, with the room cleaned and refreshed daily, fresh towels offered several times throughout the day, and evening refreshes provided on two occasions during our stay. The deep bathtub and plentiful hot water were also highlights. Complimentary bottled water was provided daily, although this was not automatically replenished and had to be requested from reception each day despite visibly being drank.
A few small areas could be improved. Prior to arrival I emailed to enquire about room upgrades or anniversary packages available to celebrate our wedding anniversary but unfortunately never received a response. It would also have been nice if our anniversary had been acknowledged in some small way during our stay as other hotels have in the past when noticing the anniversary cards etc on display in room. Additionally, there was no iron available, only a steamer to borrow, and bathroom toiletries were not replenished once used. Travellers should also note that many of the room sockets are Italian three-pin sockets which do not accept standard EU adapters.
Overall, the positives far outweighed the negatives. The Metropole is a beautiful, character-filled hotel with excellent staff, a fantastic location and a genuinely unique atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return on a future visit to Venice.
