The marble portal was once closed with wrought iron doors so hence the origin of the name
The little palace was horribly restored with an additional floor and the partial closing of the round-arched windows

non-existent services and inadequate bathroom

Just the old building is nice.
Appreciable the size of the room, but we are not quite there with everything else.
Bathroom without window, without shower, with bathtub and shower that can not even be positioned in such a way that you can take a shower.
No TV, no slippers, mattress and uncomfortable pillows and untidy room when we return.
There were not even changed towels!!!!
In short, not to be recommended.

Although this is a hotel, it is a classic Venetian palazzo, one of the “main” aristocratic families of Venice - the Cantorini. (they have about a dozen palazzos in Venice). It is precisely this, its “pristine” nature, that makes the palazzo interesting! The palazzo is located in Castello, next to Calle and Rio, and Campo San Francesco, in a rather secluded corner of Venice, but it’s easy to find

Beauty and Comfort

This is the most thought-through, comfortable and elegant hotel room there could be. From the moment you walk into your room in this strikingly beautiful 15th Century palazzo, you feel you are in good hands.
Our room was appropriately named Golden Hour, for the long hours of joy that one can spend in the suite's living room taking in romantic rooftop views. The kitchen is brand-new and carefully designed, with each utensil and appliance carefully chosen and installed.
The bathrooms are new and spotlessly clean, the sheets crisply ironed, and the bedrooms wonderfully decorated with elegant grace. Touches like Murano mirrors seal the deal.
I highly recommend the stay for those travelling to Venice with beauty and comfort at the top of their list. We had the best time and can't wait to come back.

Well recommended

Just had a great 2 nights here (July 2020) a beautiful old property, we were pleased with the amount of space we had in our room. AC worked fine, it was very unique and quirky to have boats chug past on the canal outside at eye level from our room! Only encountered 2 staff members, and saw no other guests at all. Staff were pleasant and efficient, with good English. Check in was a breeze. Would happily return, and wish everyone in Venice a prompt return to normality of tourism in this incredible city.
