Great hotel for short stays in Düsseldorf

Great, simple accommodation with everything you need for a short stay in Düsseldorf.
Nice central location and great
price/performance ratio. Nice common room where you can make yourself a great coffee in the morning. I especially liked the cleanliness.

Humidity and lost of money

I booked this hotel in advance. I arrived at 4pm and I took out the key from the mail box. There was no reception. I climbed the stairs and when I opened the door of room nr16, I was shocked by the smell of humidity. The wall had yellow stains. Being the room small, made it even worse. It was impossible to breathe. I called the hotel phone number, a lady replied, but she couldn't give me an answer if there was another room available. She was needing to contact the boss. After the 3rd call, and also calling the web site agency, the lady told me that she received confirmation from the owner that there was no room available. To the complain that I submit through the web site the owner replied that they were not able to refund my money because I had use the room and they will need to clean it up. I only stayed 45m at the door of the room, trying to get an answer.

Good value for money

+ The check-in process was easy and fast. The room was small, but clean. The bathroom was also clean. Toiletries and towels were provided. A refrigerator was also available in room. The WIFI was great! A small cupboard is also available. Good location as it was very close to local transportation and also generally close to the central station.
- The place does not have an elevator. No hooks to hang clothes on. Simple movements in the room would create great noises, somehow the floor was uneven. Very small sink area.

Good and recommended

Great customer service. The staff was very nice and they replied to my requests quickly. What I liked also the free traffic card (bus, subway, and tram etc..). My room was relatively big with a nice window and a small balcony overlooking the other side of the building.

Good and bad

I'm sure you'll find something nicer in the same money. I had a single pers. room but the bed was big enough. You have a minibar, tv with most of the channels in german and .. that's it. This summer you'll have a construction site vis a vis so take a room on the other side (if it's possible). Room is small and you'll feel this when you use wc or you need more shelfs for clothes. And I would work a little bit at cleaning. Room is clean where you look but when you leave and check for things so you don't forget them, maybe you'll find some others under the bad. But not yours :).
But if you just visit the room 2-3 hours/day and stay 3 -4 days, it's ok. Taking also free tickets (bus, tram, vrr tariff) into consideration :).
