Good stay! Room came with towels and linens. The beds were what you'd expect from a hostel. We stayed during Oktoberfest, so it was a little rowdy. About a 15 min walk to the train station. Not too many food options nearby, but the lobby has vending machines. All day luggage storage is provided.

WORST EXPERIENCE

Terrible. ⚠️ MAJOR SAFETY VIOLATION AND STAFF NEGLIGENCE - AVOID THIS HOSTEL! ⚠️I had the absolute worst experience of my life at a&o München Laim. I stayed in a shared room where one of the guests was clearly having a severe psychological crisis, creating an extremely unstable and dangerous environment for everyone.Multiple guests from the room, including myself, went to the reception to report the situation because we felt our physical integrity and safety were at imminent risk. Shockingly, the hotel staff did absolutely nothing. They completely ignored our safety concerns and left us trapped in a hazardous situation.I am uploading photos to prove the chaotic and unsafe conditions of the room. The lack of basic customer care, empathy, and safety protocols from the management is unacceptable. If you care about your personal safety, DO NOT stay here. They will take your money and abandon you if a dangerous situation arises.

German youth hostel...a past memory that is over.

The rooms are well furnished. But when the windows are closed, the room smells very bad. The dark colors may hide some dirt when it smells like that.
The food was sufficient for both breakfast and dinner. However, there is no pork. We are not in Saudi Arabia, and salami is supposed to be made from pork. Only halal foods are considered. The staff hardly speaks German. In the youth hostel, homeless people stay and eat in the dining hall, including people who have not reserved a room, meaning people who do not pay. We as a group are checked when we enter. Other people are not. The staff sees this and says nothing. The luggage room smells very bad and there are suitcases, bags full of old things that do not belong to the guests. It smells very bad and is full of insects flying around the suitcases.
Very unhygienic. At the entrance, the chairs are always occupied by people who sleep there and appear unclean. Unfortunately, the German quality is just a memory.
The location is a 10-minute walk to the S-Bahn. The group leaders receive water, coffee, or tea three times a day for free.
The elevator does not work well. The doors on the ground floor do not always open.

Horrible.

Not to be redone! The exaggerated price for the conditions, leaving aside the fact that there is neither a fan nor an air conditioner of course, the cleaning is completely poor, safety bar of a broken bunk bed, mattress covers and some missing towels, bathroom basket still half full from previous guests, stained floor and a pillow with a brown stain of which I do not want to know the provenance.Small parking but there is.The Quality of food I avoid, DO NOT approach the distributors in the reception because they have absurd prices (5 € half a liter of water)

Amazing!!!

Apart from that, when you arrive inside the structure, it looks anything but a hotel, it is a hostel that however I found doing a search for a hotel. I am greeted by two people who honestly I had difficulty understanding in German and who invite you to check in alone through automatic machines, apart from that the rooms were first of all dirty stains on the floor, etc. the bunk beds were decadent in some screws were missing or even parts of the structure were unsafe, (which by the way used three girls aged 7 , 10 and 12 !!!) broken curtains, shutters that did not close perfectly but the most hideous thing stains on the pillows and beds that I honestly do not even want to know what origins they had !!! The beds were not made (we took a room for five people only the double bed which then by the way were two singles attached had been made the others we had to make them) lacked sheets lacked towels, garbage baskets full, broken sockets! The room was really hot and we had quite a hard time opening the windows!!! You can't find fans or air conditioners! The comforts we do not talk about in the shower there was only a dispenser half empty plus an overweight person would not be able to get into the shower, beyond that you can also find mold! In the corridor there were pieces I think of an abandoned desk near a pseudo office between the rooms that created an obstacle in the corridor!! All this for the modest sum of 170 € for one night for five beds!! Not to mention the €15 I had to pay to reserve a parking space that by the way you could count on the fingers of one hand, some occupied by pieces of tables and the underground parking non-existent!! Actually they won't see me even for one night I don't understand how on Booking they have 7.9 out of 10 stars I wouldn't even give half of them!
