disappointing and unworthy of the name Van der valk

Upon arrival we asked to book a table at restaurant Nest, this would be okay. When we wanted to join later this was not the case and we were directed to a corner, where we were completely ignored for 20 minutes although the place was only half full. Our aperitif we got half an hour later. The table next to us sent back a meat dish for smelly. Another table returned part of the order due to incorrect and another table returned half of the dishes. We did not get what we ordered, namely mussels nature instead of mussels in lookroom. One waitress ran out of her legs, while the others were busy with their hair and looking at their timepiece, all to avoid making eye contact so we could complain. On departure, the waiter followed us if we would please complain to the manager without mentioning her name, but he was not present on Sunday. We have been a customer of Van der valk for years, this was the first time through a Social Deal, which by the way removed our review the day after it was posted. In terms of infrastructure, there is little to criticize on this chain but in this case amateurism was an asset. At breakfast, a customer was shouted at in a packed room, but it was ultimately a mistake. Again, someone was quietly placing the table decoration while other staff calmly took a coffee or water to have a chat at the counter, while there were tables to clear. A cook was eating a sandwich in the back kitchen over a platter of prepared food. Outside, the litter was noticeable.
Too bad because this case has enormous potential, unfortunately a damper on our profession.

2-star hotel

Reception close to zero for the French. You have to take your car and luggage to access the room. Room outside the hotel, access road not marked near the trash, no air conditioning but a fan is present. Impossible access to the restaurant and pool without taking your car, toilet flush that leaks. Positive point: very good bedding.

Disaster

A disaster!!!
Very unpleasant reception, non-air-conditioned cottage room located in an area with garbage and rat traps!
The first time in my life that I stay in a 4-star hotel of such poor quality!!!
Absolutely to be avoided

Great hotel, our fridge didn’t work mid heatwave, so couldn’t keep any food or drinks cold. However the air con was brilliant, beautiful room. Pillows -10 was awful was just fluff, and the mattress was rock hard.

Excellent hotel and will stay in future and keep recommend to others. Great facilities and top restaurants with friendly and professional staff. Good parking available.
One minor is that when booking through expedia website, it is mentioned that the room has airconditioning. Which was an important parameter in booking it as it was 39degrees that day.
When entering in the room, there was only a ventilator which was far from sufficient to bring the temperature to an acceptable level. When reporting this to the reception, the reply was that hotel is fully booked and that I should talk to Expedia as they are the one stating airco is in the room… i suggested that the hotel contacts Expedia to correct any wrong information concerning the facility and not myself being the customer.
As no other room was availabe, received a voucher for a drink in the bar. Also here the
Staff was friendly and professional
