Friendly Place

Stayed here for 3 days recently and as there wasn't a review for a while it was a chance, and we enjoyed the place. It has a nice outdoor area to sit, relax and eat. The kitchen is large and well equipped. The breakfast was great and varied with bread, cheese, ham, fruit and with real coffee. The staff are very friendly and can tell you about whats in the area to visit. While we was there it had a good mix of people and really enjoyed hanging out. There is a Tv lounge area also. The bar is on a honesty system which we like. We had a private room with fan and it was basic but enough and fair priced. Enjoy

Ottimo

Bellissimo, posizione ottima, staff estremamente accogliente, soggiorno indimenticabile.
Hostel lindo e perto da praia e da parada dos ónibus, pessoal muito gente boa, por uns quatro dias inesqueciveis.
Very nice hostel in a good position to achieve bus stop and beach, polite and very welcoming staff, it was unbelievable.

Wicked vibe and awesome staff.

Stayed three weeks. Felt like I was part of the family. Very homely and welcoming. Good open kitchen. Rooms are small but common spaces are big. A minute from the beach and plenty of nature to explore by foot nearby.

If only the standards were as 'high' as everybody else

We were very disappointed with our recent one night stay here. Our room was grotty, pillows smelt of sweat and they cleaned the sink when we were there with a baby wipe. My main issue was the constant smell of weed at the place which was just off putting. There was also a kid watching TV in the lounge when we arrived and it stunk of weed in there too. I don't mind people smoking it but around kids is just wrong. Breakfast was ok though, but I'm wouldn't have used the kitchen to cook my own meals. As we left after the first night we had to pay for the 2nd which I was also left an even worst taste ink the mouth. I'd seriously consider booking here, we found a great hostel about 10 mins away for the same price.

Friendly owner

Although we were in a very small 6 bed dorm (had to sleep with my
backpack on my bed) we originally liked our stay at the hostel. We moved to a 4 bed room and was just as small. There are 4 and 6 bed dorms that are a lot larger and at the same price. All the staff were lovely especially the owner. However, there was a swiss guy was working on reception and offered surf lessons who was rude and didn't want to make conversation. He was abrupt with our general chit chat and when asked if he would make a caiprihinha for me at 1am he said no it would make too much noise. Never mind that the last 3 nights people have been up till 4am +. Plus you are not allowed to bring ur own drink into the hostel. He was pleasant when trying to sell his surf lessons. I feel that he really let the owner down with his attitude. The lady who works during the day helping with breakfast, washing and changing beds is super lovey and very friendly.
