Really liked the location. Cool little historical motel but completely renovated. Lots of fun stuff to do. Close to everything. I’d definitely book here again.

We had a generally excellent time in the Kettle Valley Beach Resort. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and very clean, with ample towels for our stay. The location was excellent and we never had any problem parking near to our room. There are plenty of good eating options on the doorstep and the lake is a 1 minute walk from the rooms (10 seconds from reception!). The only negative was the lack of black-out blinds, meaning that the sun came streaming through our windows at around 05.00, having already been light since 04.30. The curtains are thin and light the light through, and the sun shines through the gaps at both sides of the window, as there is no way to block the light; I was assured that the property was in the process of purchasing black out blinds, but this has clearly been a problem for many previous guests and I'm not convinced this has been addressed, as it takes two minutes to order online! Other than that, we had a great stay and the rooms on the other side of the parking lot are North facing so would at least not get the sun shining through in the morning.

Remote management can work.

There is no face to face check in, you are sent an email with the room number and the code to open the door.
At first this seems a littlest odd, but it works, the managers can be contacted via text or email, when we had a slight problem with our bathroom door they responded to our emails very quickly, and the problem was sorted.
The room is a bit small, but it was perfectly clean and well laid out.
The bed was huge, and very comfortable.
We stayed 2 nights and found it to be a good base for exploring the area.

Very clean hotel/motel - the room was spotless and the grounds were tidy. However, the rooms looked a lot more upscale on the website than what we saw when we arrived. Certainly not as advertised. The kitchen was small, and sparsely equipped. Security light shone all night long and lit up our room like a disco - no blackout curtains or blinds, which interfered with the quality of our sleep. The beds were very uncomfortable and the bathroom had room for literally one person. Although the rooms recently had a refresh-paint, decor and the bathroom appeared to be completely remodeled, the infrastructure (electrical, plumbing) did not receive an upgrade which was somewhat frustrating. For example there was a lack of plugins for charging devices, repositioning fans, etc.
The staff was outstanding and very responsive - always ready to answer questions or to troubleshoot issues.
Location was excellent - across the street from Okanagan beach. Parking on site was tight especially with the large number of half ton trucks that were present.
Bottom line - while staff and cleanliness were superb, the rooms were overpriced for what they offered. We view this property as a very old hotel with a bit of lipstick. We will not be returning.
