Real potential..not there yet.
The staff are mainly very friendly and try to assist, especially David in reception. The bar staff are also very efficient, welcoming and professional. The reception area in the neighbouring Emigrants Boutuque Hotel is beautifully decorated with some very interesting pieces and pictures.
So, why the three stars? A couple of anecdotes.
On arrival and having received our key, we were followed to the car park, for no apparent reason by someone who, when asked, said he was the General Manager. No idea why he was there, he did not help with the luggage. We saw him on a few occasions after that but all we got was “hello” or “goodnight”. No interest in how we were enjoying our stay or how he could help. He sat every night in the bar area on his laptop, no worthwhile engagement.
At the time of our stay, the Inn had no other guests. Our room was on the corner of the hotel, right on a busy junction. For our second night, we asked to move as we could not sleep but were told on two separate occasions that was not possible because either 1. other rooms were undergoing “technical renovations” or 2. because we had booked through Booking.com. We had to use white noise on our phones. Why, no other rooms were occupied?
On the third day, we returned at 16.30 to find our room had not been serviced. We managed to find housekeeping who were just leaving and they told us that the staff had”been in a meeting”. Surprising, as up until then, we found housekeeping to be great.
I could go on but it’s a real shame. This place is potentially a great place but something is lacking and unfortunately, I have to put that down to management.

Anniversary weekend getaway
The rooms have always been great, you have everything you need. We fell in love with the bathrobes…seems like a small thing to note…but we been talking about them since we left!
Location is great, half a block if that and you are on Main Street to walk around and shop! Love the location.
Don’t miss out on Emigrant’s Inn, you will not be disappointed!
