Modern spacious clean apartment 10 min from the train station

Cross the road from the train station to Hotel Empire, get the key and a guide takes you to the apartment which is a 10 min walk behind the hotel. Area is quiet, apartment is spacious, clean and well equipped. Wifi was good. Only con is if you get an apartment on the first to third floor as you would have to lug your luggage up the stairs as there is no lift. I was given an apartment where the bedroom was on the upper floor and the toilet on the ground floor, so not that convenient. But other than that, a good choice for either a business traveller or tourist.

Spacious modern studio apartment with own entrance in slightly seedy neighbourhood

Good location, right next to railway station. Good internet. Good breakfast included in rate (at nearby hotel). I had a spacious modern studio apartment with own entrance. Restaurants and supermarket in easy walking distance. Apartment was in a slightly seedy neighbourhood with major construction right outside front door, which sometimes needed a minor detour going from apartment to hotel for breakfast. Staff warned me to keep the gate to my apartment locked at night due to neighbourhood.

Room smoky, booking cancelled, hotel owner left me high and dry

I had a booking at one of the Empire Hotel's properties, the "Apart1Hotel." When I arrived, the room reeked of smoke. I asked for my room to be changed; the hotel said they had no other rooms available. They offered me two options. First, they suggested I "just open the windows." However, they could only be opened slightly, the smell did not dissipate, and the street was noisy. The second possibility was to cancel my booking and refund my money.
Obviously, there were no other hotels at a similar price point available at the last minute, and I found this "solution" to be completely unacceptable. It wasn't my fault that the non-smoking room in the hotel reeked of smoke! The owner offered me no alternate accommodations and was unwilling to pay the difference to put me in another hotel.
I would strongly recommend that you avoid all of the Empire Hotel's properties. The owner couldn't care less about his customers. He basically left me on the street, and the trip ended up costing me much more than expected - not to mention the two hours I wasted trying to get this problem sorted out. AVOID THIS PROPERTY.

Good if you are on business for a few days and prefer an apartment to a hotel

Nice clean and located near the central railway station (so good for transport links including bus to airport). The apartment is a good size with ensuite bathroom. Located in red light district, but on a quiet street, recommend you approach from station via Rue d'Epernay (i.e. from Empire Hotel), I had no problems and didn't feel threatened.
Check-in and collect key from reception at Empire Hotel. My booking included breakfast (at Empire Hotel 07:00 to 10:00 each day).
Bring a flash light(torch) - although the outside lights give good illumination, once inside you place the apartment key into a slot and twist to turn on the electrics. Nice little kitchenette for preparing meals if and when you tire of eating out.
WiFi is quick and easy.

Great staff, great location, great value

My wife and I visited Luxembourg City at the beginning of September using the city as a hub for travel in Luxembourg, Germany and France. We were looking for an affordable hotel close to the train station. We found Apart2Stay on Trip Advisor. It's one street back from the train station. An easy walk. Check in and breakfast is at the Empire Hotel. We stepped off the bus from the airport and walked about 5 feet to Empire's door. Nicole greeted us with a smile and great, courteous service. She was very helpful our entire stay. Breakfast was very nice. It wasn't anything fancy, but it was a great start to the day. They had eggs, hot meat, selection of breads, coffee, juice, cold meats, cheese, yogurt, fruit and a selection of cereals. The breakfast room has windows overlooking the station. We enjoyed our meal while watching the station's activity. Very relaxing. The room was very secure, comfortable, clean and made for great sleeping as we rejuvenated for our next day's activities. Should we ever get back to Luxembourg, we'll stay at Apart2Stay.
