Lovely Resort Hotel

Spacious room, even though the bathroom/toilet is small. The hotel is located not too far from the Kawaguchiko train station, thus, I decided to walk (about 10 mins) to the hotel upon arrival. Check in smoothly and the staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel provided Yutaka so that you can wear it in the room or go for Onsen. Lovely onsen in the hotel that you can have good relaxation session, especially the outdoor pool is really enjoyable. I took the dinner and breakfast in the hotel and satisfy with the food and taste. Is good that you take the meal option because there isn't much restaurant option nearby. Can check the shuttle van schedule to return to the train station. I was wet because of the rain but the staff was helpful that provide me a clean towel to dry myself in their washroom. Value for money and good recommendation about this hotel.

Hotel for travel groups.

We arrive relatively late at the Fuji Kawaguchiko Resort Hotel. It is drizzling and the temperature is 11 degrees. After nearly a 10-hour journey with many transfers, we are tired and visit the buffet restaurant. The hotel specializes in tour bus groups. In a huge dining hall, many very loud travelers sit, quite ridiculous all dressed in yukatas, and storm the poor buffet.
We deliberately chose a traditional Japanese room with tatami mats and a futon mattress. However, it is very sparsely furnished. At least one picture on the wall would have sufficed. The view from the window looks out onto the large parking lot in front of the hotel. The location of the hotel is not optimal. It takes a quarter of an hour to walk to the lake. The so-called bathroom is just a tiny wet cell with a deep tub and a shower curtain. Actually, we wanted to have breakfast at the hotel, but after yesterday's experience in the hotel restaurant, we prefer to find something in town.
The next evening, I dare to visit the onsen, put on such a garment, and take towels with me. Men and women are strictly separated. You lock up your valuables, completely undress, and wash yourself properly first. There are 3 pools with very warm water. Carbonated, silky water and an outdoor pool (the warmest). You stay in a pool for a maximum of 5 to 10 minutes. Having warmed up like this, I should sleep well, but unfortunately, I do not. My hips hurt the next morning. Futons are not suitable for our age group anymore.
The only bright spot the next morning is the clear view of Mount Fuji.

Very good

Ideal for trying new experiences, near Mount Fuji, you can have various activities.
Just that it gets very cold outside the hotel at night.

Not really a resort but great view of Fuji

Booked the tatami room with a view of Fuji and it didn't disappoint - waking up to a view of the mountain was so relaxing. The room comfortably fits two people with two large suitcases. The bathroom is the usual compact Japanese toilet, no issue. There is plenty of parking if you drive. It's not really a resort as there's no activities or spa, but there is an indoor and outdoor onsen although during peak season it is very busy in both the onsen and dining hall.
As some reviews mention the food is repetitive (same items throughout our stay for breakfast and dinner) with mainly Japanese cuisine, which is fine although the warmer lamps are not very effective as a lot of the food is cold. If the food had been hot it would have been more enjoyable, but in terms of spread we were not fussed.
Cleanliness could have been a bit better - found hair in the bathroom. Staff are friendly.

Great Resort Hotel

Our G Adventures tour group stayed at this hotel because of its close proximity to the Mt Fuji Panoramic Ropeway (separate review.) The hotel is great and has a wonderful restaurant on premise. Be forewarned that clouds can cover the mountain which can result in interrupted views.
