Comfortable & convenient stay with great breakfast!

Stayed here one night on our way from the capital area to Lapland. This was a really pleasant experience, the place was clean and comfortable and we really liked the breakfast, you could see that they had put effort into it. Staff was really helpful and friendly. Would happily stay again!

Best Hotel in Town

We were up in this part of Finland for a wedding and this hotel was perfect. The rooms were very clean and had everything we needed for the days we were there. We were there during some hot weather and the hotel provided us with an air conditioner to sleep with. The breakfast was superb and the staff were amazing. Can recommend it enough.

refreshing change

I stayed here en route between S. Finland and Lapland in March 2021. In fact I stayed two nights because of a vicious snowstorm that lasted almost 24 hours. The place is functional, clean and very good value. Although there are no ‘full-service’ cooking facilities, most travellers won’t need this, so the mini-fridge and microwave suffice. The nearby supermaket has everything you might need. In 2021 the hotel was being ultra cautious on sanitary rules, and a breakfast hamper was offered in place of the restaurant breakfast (which would have been charged as an extra anyway). On balance this place is a refreshing change from the standard chain-hotels, is in a quiet but easily accessed spot and is well signposted from the main highway as ‘Hotelli Pihtipudas’. I strongly recommend it.

Täydellinen pysähdyspaikka (summary in english)

Yövyimme matkalla pohjoiseen ja olimme niin tyytyväisiä, että varasimme yöpymisen myös paluumatkalle!
Hotelli sijaitsee aivan E75 kupeessa, mutta alue on kuitenkin rauhallinen ja Pihtiputaan palvelut (esim. apteekki ja ruokakauppa) on aivan vieressä. Omistajien vieraanvaraisuus ja hotellin palvelu on aivan huippua. Ruoka on lähiseudulta, itsetehtyä ja maistuvaa.
Huoneet ovat siistit ja puhtaat ja niissä on kaikki tarvittava. Hotelli oli myös koiraystävällinen.
Todella suosittelemme Koto hotellia niin yöpymiseen kuin ruokailuun!
We stayed for the night on our way up north and were so pleased we revisited on our way back home!
While the hotel is located just next to the E75, the area is calm and beside all basic services of Pihtipudas (e.g. pharmacy and grocery stores). The hospitality and friendliness of the hotel management (Sirpa and Anneli) is top notch. The food is local, home made and tasty. The rooms are tidy and clean and sufficiently equipped. The hotel is dog-friendly.
We warmly recommend the hotel for both lodgement and dining!

Pleasant stay after a recent full renovation

Very clean and nice hotel. We had a pleasant stay. Friendly staff and an excellent breakfast. Note that the hotel has changed its owner and has been fully renovated in 2019/2020, which should be taken into account when reading some older reviews in Google. Highly recommended and we will visit again.
