Good and Bad

Stayed as a solo traveller but with a group of 20. The hotel on arrival looks lovely with an amazing big pool and lots of sun loungers and lovely garden. However there was a lack of staff to service the pool bar which never seemed to be open till quite late in the day. One day we were given wet towels to use at the pool as there were no dry ones. The room was fine and clean. The bar area didnt have enough seats to accommodate our group and staff shortage to serve us. Only one man seemed to be on but you had to find him and took ages to get a drink. The food which was buffet at dinner was distinctly average and very repetitive. Breakfast was better. The location of this hotel wasnt the best as in the middle of nowhere and a 15minute walk into the town. I wouldnt stay at this hotel again if I was in this area.

Negative experience

Terrible experience!!!!
We had requested an early check-in because we had come to Conversano for my cousin's wedding, with the ceremony at 4 PM. I must preface that there had been numerous phone calls recommending the time.
We arrived at the hotel and were told that the rooms were not ready because the group had left late.
However, since other guests who arrived after us were being assigned rooms without issue, in response to our inquiries, we were told that theirs were ready because they were on the first floor, which was being done first. I wonder if in such cases it is not logical to give instructions to the cleaning staff to prioritize the rooms for which an early check-in is requested (3 to be clear, not 10).
After an hour and a half of waiting (under the conditions specified below), in front of yet another group of people to whom the guy at check-in was assigning rooms, and after the cleaning ladies with their carts had already gone down from the floors and left for 15 minutes, I returned again and represented the situation, and in front of yet another similar response (your rooms are on the 2nd floor and they are doing those on the first) I pointed out that it would not be difficult to give priority instructions and anyway the regular check-in time had also passed. At that point, the guy pretended to go upstairs (but the cleaning ladies had already left a quarter of an hour ago) and coincidentally after coming back down we finally got our rooms.
Lack of attention at minimal levels!!!
Of course, we arrived at the ceremony an hour late while relatives in other facilities had already received their rooms by 1 PM.
But beyond the mix-up and disorganization, which in my opinion make this hotel unworthy of 4 stars, there is the aggravating factor that in the entire lobby, where we were camped for 1.5 hours along with another group of customers in the same condition, the AIR CONDITIONING WAS OFF and it remained that way the entire time!!!! This despite the 38 degrees Celsius temperature, which came in through open doors and windows perhaps in an attempt to 'cool off a bit,' to the point that the hairstyle I had just done was ruined.
Essentially, they only turn it on in the morning while breakfast is ongoing, then it is turned off.
Now, from a hotel of this level, I expect a certain organization (which, after all, would not have taken much to give instructions to the cleaning ladies about the rooms with early check-in before the others), but moreover it is unacceptable to save on air conditioning in the middle of summer with such temperatures!!!
In my opinion: 4 stars - 2 for quality of service and organization.
I do not assign the lowest rating only because the structure is not bad, and the negative review is indeed related to the disorganization and service.

Fine hotel for a congress but if you are on holiday, don't bother with this

Poor service, we had booked a room with Garden view but overlooked the hotel entrance. Food in the hotel restaurant was not possible because they were too busy with a conference. The rooms let a lot of noise through, dated in terms of maintenance (also had leakage in the room). Mold in the edges of the shower. We got on the first day 2 plastic cups that were not changed for the rest of the stay. On the 2nd morning breakfast was 60% up around 8 am (breakfast was from 7-10 am). At first she did not want to supplement, but after filing a complaint they did.
It is a 4 star hotel but you will not experience that experience

With a little effort it could be better

Hotel with a park, parking and large swimming pool.
There is also a spa that we have not used
Good size rooms with furnishings perhaps not up to scratch. In our room there was no hook to hang for example a jacket or a raincoat.
The entrance, large and bright, has a long flight of stairs before the elevator that is very uncomfortable.
The reception when faced with a request to buy a bouquet of flowers was of no use to us limiting itself to generic indications that, moreover, led to a shop selling agricultural products.
Breakfast absolutely not up to scratch, little organized although with friendly staff.

Shockingly bad!

Four stars? You have got to be joking!
Rooms decent size, clean with nice bathroom, but mattress was extremely poor quality, very hard and uncomfortable. I struggled to sleep every night and woke with a sore back every morning. No comfy chair in room. No kettle or coffee machine.
The grounds to the hotel, especially around the (not in use) pool were neglected and dirty. No sun loungers or chairs to sit on, presumable because April is considered out of season? I asked if I could use the small indoor pool and was told it was only open from 4pm to 6.30pm and I would have to pay 40 euros for 80 minutes use! There was absolutely nothing to do at the hotel during the day. They did not appear to serve any lunch or drinks during the day.
The evening meals were dreadful. Served cold, on cold plates, and very poor quality. The breakfast buffet was minimal, there was some scrambled egg and bacon, but only ever lukewarm at most, giving me concern for food safely.
The staff came across as disinterested. I never saw the bar man smile even once. It was difficult to get a drink, some evenings I stood for up to 15 minutes to get served. He would frequently wonder off somewhere.... Communication was near impossible as no English spoken. There was an obvious lack of staff, and clearly they had little training.
I holiday several times a year in Europe, and have done so for many years. I have never come across a 4 star (or even a 3 star) hotel as poor as this one. To be avoided at all costs.
