Good for a night
We didn’t hate it - in fact it was fun and our teenager loved the experience.
Practicalities - the pods are arranged two doubles one on top of the other next to two singles one on top of the other - so potentially six people to a room. We had a double and a single, and our room-mates arrived about 2am, trying to be super quiet but inadvertently making loads of creaks and bangs getting into their own big plastic box! Not a problem- they were nice guys. We were mixed sex.
The room itself has a hotel-style key lock and every pod has a lockable locker. Front desk staff were nice and helpful.
Toilets were communal and hostel-style.
Japanese bar/food/karaoke round the corner.

The place is comfortable but I felt insecure
Aspects I didn't like: They allow people to lock the doors of the rooms and to be left open (note that the capsules do not have a key). But the most striking and DANGEROUS thing is that the hostel overlooks in its back an internal street, a passage. That door never closes, many people who are not from the hostel come in to use the bathrooms and stay outside making noise. I don’t know what kind of security there is in Singapore and maybe it’s because I’m from Argentina, but in two months in Southeast Asia in no accommodation did I feel as INSECURE as in this one. They allow anyone in, beyond the cameras, there is no control (besides that the doors are open 24 hours and the staff at night is not available).
