Excellent stay

Excellent stay, the place is very pleasant, very clean, and in good taste. The rooms are charming, the staff is very attentive.

Strange Chateau Visit

This was a very strange experience overall. Of the various chateaux where we stayed during our three weeks in France, this is the only one which did not send us an email a few days before our stay, confirming the expectation of our arrival. The chateau is in a very rural area surrounded by vineyards and actually located very close to a large Chateaux and Relais establishment, which is very well identified. Chateau Sigalas Rabaud did not have a very noticeable sign and we ended up in the middle of a vineyard before we finally located the chateau itself. Even when we did arrive, there was no sign of life or welcoming indication - all the shutter were closed and the place looked deserted. Once we ventured in we did find a pleasant young employee who gave us a choice of two rooms and then departed. The chateau was very old and although it had been restored, it seemed dank and had a slightly mildew order. The room we chose was quite dark, but by opening the shuttered door, the light improved. The locks on the doors did not work for us at least but the situation seemed very safe. The bathroom was nice, the towels were sumptuous and all was clean. We did not see any employees again until we arose the next morning and there was one who served us breakfast in the courtyard. When I found this chateau on Trip Advisor, it sounded quite charming, but that was not our experience. There was no one actually in charge as in most hotels or chateau. I cannot imagine any reason to stay at Chateau Sigalas Ribaud unless it would be to have dinner at the fabulous Michelin two-star Lalique restaurant which is very near. We made the reservation at the Chateau for what we thought would be a charming stopping point on our was to St. Estephe, and only discovered the restaurant next door by chance.

Sweet night in the vineyards

We stayed one night at the Castle and were able to enjoy the visit in the afternoon. Our guide was adorable and very competent. We wish him all the best in the future. We slept very well, in the silence of the vines, and the awakening was very pleasant. The breakfast, served with great kindness, was excellent. We have only good memories!

Unique - wonderful rooms - quiet place

Excelente sitio. Wonderful place and sure we will come back.
The owner Mme Laure was a wonderful host and we enjoyed very much the conversations with her during our breakfast

Very nice visit

Thank you to Laure, owner of the castle for showing us around. We had a very rewarding exchange and ended up tasting the superb wines. This is a family estate on a human scale offering real proximity.
